Jalen Hurd at QB?

Logic used was we don't have a known QB for next year and JH's size and speed only begs the question....

One doesn't have to be an Engineer or Brain Surgeon to put 2 & 2 together and realize we don't have a reliable Captain for our ship on the field.

Just pokin' fun at you :hi:

During a bowl games this past week (don't remember which of the 50) one of the teams playing apparently took I think a wide receiver and turned him into a QB.

With Jalen's height and speed, has there ever been any talk of CBJ and staff exploring the possibility? I mean, it's not as if VN and the coaching staff are even close to being in agreement on a lock on the QB position for next Fall, so why couldn't Hurd be considered?

Not a chance, and no Bruce will not be back!!

If we put him at QB, let's wait till the Florida game....that's the best time.

Seriously tho, AJ Johnson would be awesome as a running back.....if we didn't need him so badly at LB.

No doubt AJ would massacre some fools at RB, but make no mistake about it: the only reason the Beast Mode package ever existed was because Dools and Chaney didn't think our existing offensive personnel could get it done in the redzone.

Marshall was a QB in high school...GA tried him at db...playing now at his HS position...like Jalen will

To add to this, I believe Marshall was classified as an ATH coming out of HS and Jaawga liked him at DB because around that time they already had A. Murray and, once upon a time, Zach Mettenburger on the hook

How about let him play DL? Or OL? Apparently there are people who want him to play everywhere BUT RB.

OK - fair response. I have not hurd that or read that about hurd.

And just curious, does anyone in VN have any substantive proof that Hurd could not be a QB w/the right coaching?? And not just your personal gut feelings, but proof?

He said so himself in an interview when asked what he felt his biggest weakness is. He said he has a terrible arm.

Truth. Weren't good inside the 5 because we didn't have enough room to throw a 40 yd go route on 3rd or 4th and short IMO.

I have common sense, does that count?

What about some packages for Moosley after he packs on some size? He just lead his team to a state title at QB. A 4.3-40 QB Moosley and a 4.3-40 running back Hurd . Could be lethal running the spread.

His weight is also listed at a $1.60. Let's let the kid live a little longer.

Reminds me of back in the 80s...when the Houston Rockets unveiled the Twin Towers...copycats ensued and we got some weird combinations.

During Hurd's recruiting his number one concern and a big determining factor for him was that he must be used as a running back. Jones and company promised that would be his primary role. Plus he said himself that he would make a terrible qb so why even discuss it. It's a moot point.

Why not UK a coupla years ago pulled a TE out of dry docks & desperation who ran all over us and made us look terrible all day.

Our defense held them to 10 points and under 220 total yards... not exactly "ran all over us"
