James Franklin is supposedly....

Though is seems Larry Johnson(d line coach) has not yet been interviewed. There seems to be a push from some fans, and it also seems to be gaining steam. He is also apparently on record saying he wants the interview.

Someone forgot to tell Munchak he had to sell himself to bamawriter. However, he failed to, so now he will never get the job. Not much of a salesman if he doesnt know who is truly calling the shots.

I don't recall anyone saying Munchak would definitely not get the job, just that Franklin is the better choice.

Hold on there, Sparky. I asked tim whose "accounts" tabbed Munchak a good salesman. My personal observations aside, I've never seen Munch described in those terms by anyone else.

Just making a joke. You know I wouldnt come at you like that.

I think what Munch has going for him is dealing with whatever the unspoken pressure CBOB felt from the old guard, alums/lettermen, and 'Paterno people'.

BOB'S quote about "that's why they'll be looking for a new f****** coach in 2 months" was very telling to me.

On paper, you hire Franklin 10 times out of 10. I'm sure munch has a lovely plan to acclimate himself to college football, but it would still be an experiment. Franklin (provided he is truly clean in the Vandy rape scandal) is who you hire.

But I wonder if Penn State isn't starting down a path that leads to them looking like Bama chasing the Bear...

Who then?

You serious? Not about the buyout, but that you think it will be Saban?

Dead serious. He's from the Pittsburgh area, he's always looking for the next big challenge (and what could be more challenging than resurrecting PSU after their massive sanctions?), and he was wearing a blue tie on Monday Night Football.

Careful, you are about to make multiple football forums melt down.

Not to mention, that is only part of the truth

Edit, Franklin corrected himself. Franklin told me(just now via text) Saban to PSU, Jimbo to Bama, Gus to FSU, Franklin to Louisville, Kiffin to Vandy, Jones to Auburn and UT back to another coaching search.

With no mention of Gruden I know this isn't real!
