I just think it's funny Vandy fans actually believe Franklin wants to stay at Vandy (or so the VandyMania crowd says so). His name has been linked to almost every opening and according to the various guys on 104.5, Franklin has lobbied hard for everyone of them. Not to mention he could easily come out and say he's not leaving; yeah I know even that wouldn't mean much given coaches do that all the time, but why not at least do that?

Yes, I think Munchak is a token interview to satisfy the old farts in their booster circuit. No major college program should even consider a guy like Munchak to be head coach.

Munchak might could be a better coach than Jimmy Frank in the collegiate ranks, but I don't see how anyone can look at the two and say that Munchak is a better fit other than he is a PSU alum. Frank has a much better personality and fit for the college game than Munchak. Munchak is a complete bore. I would literally almost fall asleep listening to his postgame comments. Can you imagine him trying to recruit vs a high energy guy like Frank? Frank beats him hands down. Munchak would be a fish out of water in the college game in my opinion. Recruiting is the life blood of a college head coach. Frank has already shown he can do it at Vandy. He'd do much better at PSU. No one knows how Munchak would do, but if his personality is any indication, he'd bore families to death in the living room.

I'm so sick of hearing how great he is. While I agree he has improved the attitude around Vandy football, im not so sure he is as good as everybody seems to think he is. They have won 9 games two years in a row and that is fantastic for any Vandy squad. However, it's not so impressive if you dig a little deeper into who they have beaten.

They've beat 4 teams with a winning record and none of those teams were much better than average. They beat a 8-5 UGA and a 8-5 Houston team this year. In 2012 they beat a 7-6 Ole Miss and a 7-6 NC State. All the teams they beat over the last two years have a whopping 72-147 record.

We will find out real soon how smart he is.......he better get out while he has so many people fooled. Probably the wrong forum so feel free to move it, after all, it's about Franklin....it's not that important.

I hate to tell you but any coach that can win at Vandy is pretty impressive.

Also, guess how many wins Butch Jones had against winning teams in his 3 years at Cincy.... he had 5. And there was plenty of "Butch gets it" going on around here all last season.

You make a good point and it validates mine. BJ wasn't being talked about as one of the best coaches in America after only beating five teams with winning records in 3 years. The way people talk about Franklin you'd think he has owned Saban for two years. I agree he is good, I just don't think he hung the moon like so many do.

He is great at covering up rape cases. Oh and the only people who think Franklin is really any good are Vandy fans.

Were you on this board all off-season last year? Hell, they were ready to erect a statue of Jones before he coached a game.

You can't hold Vandy to the same standard as UT, UF, UGA, LSU, Auburn, or Bama. They've sucked for so long. What he's been able to do is pretty remarkable...for Vandy.

When you say "they" I assume you mean UT fans and not every media outlet in the country. There's a difference.
