Gonna be Munchak. He interviewed today.
ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported Sunday morning on ESPN's "Sunday NFL Countdown" that fired Tennessee Titans head coach and Penn State alum Mike Munchak will interview Sunday for the Nittany Lions head coaching job, just a day after he was let go by the Titans. State is also expected to interview Vanderbilt's James Franklin today according to Coachingsearch.com, a day after he led the Commodores to a BBVA Compass Bowl win over Houston.
Munchak makes no sense compared to Franklin.
Franklin would make PSU a perennial top 15 team, maybe even top 10. He would land tons of Northeast and Midwest recruits that Michigan and OSU go after. And obviously, he knows how to win at the college level.
Munchak's only positive is that he played at PSU. But then again, Franklin is a PA guy, so it would be a homecoming of sorts for him too.
Seeing as how most UT fans want Franklin gone ASAP, of course PSU will hire Munchak.
I can't tell if you are being serious or not. I'm leaning towards no, but hoping for yes.
I am being serious. I'd love to hear your rationale for why Munchak is a better choice than Franklin.
If Munchak is such a great candidate, why is his name only linked to his alma mater, while Franklin has been linked to nearly every job opening?
Every football analyst has already said Franklin would kill it at PSU, and would have definitely killed it at Texas.
They were one bad play away from beating Ole Miss. They win that one and they finish with 10 wins which would have been a school record. 10 wins is very possible for this team.
