Jarnell Stokes names his top 3

Believe me or not, but don't be surprised if Tennessee doesn't make the cut when he trims his list this summer.

Stokes and Poythress 6'7, 205

Damien Wilson and Jordan Adams from the same school are both also interested in TN.

Archie Goodwin, Twymond Howard....the Vols are in play for some big names.

I would expect that in 2012 we will sign 3 and Stokes and Poythress are very possible as 2. We should have a top 10 class.

Joe Johnson played Archie Goodwin in a scrimmage and vouched for how good he is:

From Scout.com / MSN on June 9 Recruiting Report...

*Jarnell Stokes has admitted that before Bruce Pearl was let go at Tennessee, that the Vols were the school that he would have selected. Now there is a building thought behind the scenes that Memphis is going to be very tough to beat. Still Arkansas and Missouri should not be discounted in this one. Stokes is being recruited very hard by both schools, and word is he thinks highly of them. Schools such as Florida, Tennessee, and Connecticut are also definitely involved, but it might take those schools a little more work. Josh Pastner has done a good job controlling the Memphis borders so far. It will be interesting to see if the new coaches at Missouri and Arkansas can come in and breakdown the wall that Pastner has done a pretty good job of building up to this point.

Saw where Easterwood has implied that Stokes will be changing schools.

Sounds like its wither Southwind HS in Memphis, where 2013 standout Johnny "J3" Williamss III attends or Oak Hill Academy

From the editor of Stokes blog tweets sounds like the Memphis out front theory is incorrect.

He is Memphis' to lose.

Like I have mentioned before, I am not a fan of Easterwood, but I have yet to really see the guy be wrong when he says a kid is going to a certain place. He has said over and over again since Pearl was canned that Stokes is going to Memphis.

For the record, I would rather see him go to Arky if not Tennessee.

I've read that one. A new one comes out sometime tomorrow.

His editor says he's not as high on Memphis and everyone thinks, and he threw out a hint that said: Arkansas fans should be happy

I saw that too and I think the kid really likes Arky and Anderson, but IMO, Easterwood is right that in the end the hometown effect will win out. I believe he also said that all of those close to him believe that is where he will end up.

I also saw where he should announce sometime this week that he is going to Oak Hill. Looks like some drama between him and J3 on the AAU team helped make the decision of Oak Hill vs. Southwind.

While I still think he will come back to Memphis to play, I would think that getting him out of Memphis gives for his senior year gives Arkansas and Tennessee at least a glimmer of hope.

Although he is not in the same AAU organization, I saw where Easterwood said that he believes Poythress will end up at Kentucky....

His new blog post is out.. He did announce his decision to transfer to Oak Hill.

If anything, sounds like Arkansas has the edge right now. I personally don't think he goes to Memphis, but I may be wrong. We'll see. I'll root for him anywhere he goes, sounds like a great young man.

I guess reasonable minds may differ from reading that blog. I think it looks good for the Tigers, he literally says: "Another thing I want to mention real quick is that I want to stay home, but if I do stay home it will be a business decision, meaning I’ll go to whatever college I’m going to go to because it’s the best option for me as a basketball player and student-athlete."

There's just going to be too much pull for him to stay in Memphis. He's training with our players, playing pick up games all the time, working out with our strength and conditioning guy, getting 40 tweets a day from our players. Easterwood has been calling this one for 5 months.

Arkansas will be just fine under Anderson without Stokes, trust me.

The next school I want to talk about is Tennessee because at first I was a little low on them but now after talking to that coaching staff, I can pretty much say that they’re a bunch of cool guys and they understand me really well. I had a long talk with head coach Cuonzo Martin and I was just amazed that he understood everything I was going through. He also played in the NBA so he knows what it takes to get a guy to the pros.

While I do think Stokes will be at Memphis in the end, listening to KE is funny.

It also allows Stokes to play with Memphis (verbal) commit Damien Wilson. Though Stokes knows plenty about Memphis so unless Wilson and Stokes form a good bond, I am not sure there is a big benefit for Memphis regarding the transfer to Oak Hill.
