Jay Graham to FSU (merged)

Hey guys,

FSU just hired Graham to replace Eddie Gran's spot at RB coach. Can ya'll give me the fan's opinion of him? I didn't follow Tennessee too closely this past year, so I'm not too familiar with him.

Thanks in advance.

FSU Hires Tennessee's Jay Graham as Offensive Assistant

I'm not a UT fan, but he was an excellent recruiter at South Carolina. He was largely responsible for landing Lattimore.

UT's ship was sinking when Graham boarded it in the first place. He knew the situation he was walking into. This is not about that. And if it is, then he has no backbone to stay the course he himself chose to be a part of.

Also, how could Jones slow the ontake of water until he puts an actual product on the field? We all just witnessed first hand how bringing in good recruiting classes does not slow the ontake. Only the play on the field does.

Coaches that are good at recruiting slow the ontake of water immediately.

I'm not comparing CBJ to anyone, but look at Saban at Bama and Urban Meyer at OSU. Saban took a flailing Bama program to a national title in two years after starting there. and OSU was coming off a 6-6 year and constantly being embarrassed by the SEC for years and he had a huge class and went undefeated.

Jones is going to have to be one hell of a football coach if he's going to turn this around, because the recruiting just aint working.

I don't really see what Tee did as betrayal. He was never a coach here. He chose to keep his current position. In some circles that's a legitimately loyal thing to do. This however, is betrayal.

How? Isn't Jay the lowest paid guy on the staff? If he is getting a raise where he is heading, why WOULDN'T he go?

Lemee get this straight - you're comparing three months of Butch Jones to the results of two years for Saban and Meyer?

I'm with you if in two years we haven't shown marked improvement but to make a statement like that because one coach leaves is stupid.

The slaps to the face just keep on coming lol Wow, I just dont know what to say anymore. We HAVE to be cursed! Nothing ever goes right for this program anymore. Just when things are ok and calm....BAAAM!! Another backhander to the cheek. It really sucks being a Vol alum/diehard sometimes lol

So are most of you hurt because he is a Vol or because we are losing an awesome RB's coach? I think our hearts might be in the way of our brains. It stings, but we missed big time on this past recruiting class. Hoping we can get a good replacement....a seasoned coach that can recruit well in the SEC. I will wait to jump until I see who we fill the spot with.

I think this whole thing is over the mascot.

FSU has a dude on a horse with war paint and a flaming spear and we have a blue tick hound that occasionally snaps at people. We need excitement... Maybe have Smokey trot over to the opposing team's sideline right at the fifty and drop a deuce.

Definitely Graham left because the FSU mascot is an easier sale to potential RBs

Anyone saying that they wouldn't take a pay raise/advancement elsewhere is just plain lying or looking through orange colored glasses.

Both were proven, National Championship coaches before they landed on campus. It would be more fitting to compare it with Saban's first year at LSU and Urban's first year at UF.

In 2000 when Saban first took over, his recruiting class finished 29th. The next season after they showed marked improvement on the field, they finished 3rd.

In 2005 when Meyer first took over, it was 15th (low for usual UF standards). The next season after improvement over Zook, they finished 2nd.

You win, then you bring in the recruits.

Here we go again...its CJGs fault for not landing a top RB. Has nothing to do with the instability of the program that has been created over the yrs by many factors including this fanbase. Also it can have nothing to do with CBJ either, cause he's every ones golden boy and this is his "dream job".

Got love some of the people on here. Geeeezzzz.

For the record I don't give two sheets. If somebody leaves, then move on from it. Everybody has coaches leave, Auburn had a coach leave a couple of weeks or so from signing day. Calm down. Move on we can't get a worse recruiter. Our ex RB's missed on every RB recruit.
