I've heard of head coaches paying their supporting coaches out of their own salaries.

He maybe could have made up the difference (whatever that was) if he wanted him to stay bad enough.

Really? lets say it was 100k raise.. Jones should pay that? some people on this board are just to stupid.

Sometimes other things outweigh money. If he thought that Butch Jones was going to kill it at UT and bring them back to the national stage, that would be excellent exposure for Graham. But my guess is that is't no surprise that this is coming out right after one of the most pis.s poor recruiting classes in the last 20 years. I think Jay Graham is a rat and he just jumped off of a sinking ship.


By the way, this same scenario could be applied to Tee Martin.

I'm not saying he SHOULD do it. I;m just saying if he really wanted Graham to stay, it maybe could have happened.

I'm not sure what the difference in salary is, but 100K isnt anything to CBJ.

Is this ****ing serious!?!?!?!!? Wow man I am hurt by this. I don't know the story behind this but I'm not a fan of leaving your alma matter to go coach somewhere else. Especially when you have a ****ing street named after you my god.

I wouldnt call it Jones' ship. I'd call it the UT football ship, which has been sinking for years now and Jones hasn't done anything to slow the ontake of water. I fully realize he hasnt been here but a few months, but the bad happenings just keep coming.

How many of those classes had 3 straight losing seasons in front of them? How many had 4 different coaching staffs in 5 years? How many of those staffs had to clean up the mess of the previous regime because of their neglect on the recruiting trail? Butch and his staff did a great job laying the foundation for a great 2014 class. CJG is a huge loss, let's hope he makes a great hire.

UT's ship was sinking when Graham boarded it in the first place. He knew the situation he was walking into. This is not about that. And if it is, then he has no backbone to stay the course he himself chose to be a part of.

Also, how could Jones slow the ontake of water until he puts an actual product on the field? We all just witnessed first hand how bringing in good recruiting classes does not slow the ontake. Only the play on the field does.

Everybody has a price...FSU apparently hit Grahams price as USC hit Tee Martins...Money sometimes outweighs loyalty.
