Jay Graham to FSU (merged)

I am in shock. I haven't been on Volnation in a couple days and I just checked in to see this. I haven't read and have no idea why CJG is leaving for FSU but I did think CBJ short changed him a little in the pay department compared to a few other coaches. CJG missed on some running backs but he still recruited better then anyone else on staff. Damn I just not sure what to think. Knee jerk reaction aside I love Jay Graham and really hate this.
Don't feel bad, I don't believe that Mrs.Graham knew either. Seriously, thanks for your committment, Jay. Wish you would have chosen to coach at your old school for longer than 1 season.

Hope that Randy shares all of his vast coaching knowledge with you. I would mention Sal but he does not spend much time coaching, only cursing out the players.

Tennessee will find another RB coach and you will just be a brief memory in few months. Not butt hurt at all, just stating the truth.

From that article it sounds as though Jay's getting a big promotion. Not gonna judge a thing until we know more.

I'm calling in sick tomorrow, sick and tired one thing after another...I think I've come down with volightus. I'm bleeding orange and white. It's been going on too long and a day of serious drugs may help, maybe I need the rest of the week.

The truth of what exactly?

Jay Graham will never be a brief memory to long time Vol fans. He was a great player here and he will certainly never be forgotten. Yes we will hire another coach and I'm confident CBJ will find a good one but regardless it's a sad day.

Good Lord!! Stop looking for somebody to blame other than Jay Graham himself. He is like 99.9% of all coaches, wave more green in their faces and they start packing a suitcase.
Why must there always be a scapegoat?

We'll be fine,settle down.

Not only that but why on Earth should we hold it against him? He's not going to a SEC rival but going out of conference to a team that hates the gators as much as we do. It's hard to see that as a terrible thing.

We want our players to succeed in the NFL but we don't want the succeed in climbing the coaching ladder? I wouldn't want Jay coaching at Bama but getting a bigger job at FSU and moving up in his career path?

I have the feeling none of this would matter so much to most people if we didn't have such a disastrous last few years. And it shouldn't matter now.

I've heard a lot of rumblings that a lot of this decision was based on the sole fact Jay was having lots of trouble recruiting under UTs new academic standards. I truly believe Jimmy Cheek and Dave Hart are forcing UT to become something they can't. Stanford and such don't play in the SEC so their academic standards don't effect their athletics as much as it would if they were in the SEC. Just my two cents.

Vandy is in the SEC and they are improving, so I guess UT's academic standards are higher than Vandy's. Some excuse is better tan none I guess.

Your post is the definition of butthurt. Instead of wishing him luck and assuming he knows the best for his career, you act like a prick. Good job bro.

Pardon me guys, I just logged on again and noticed Jay threads get merged. Did everyone see this?

Basilio stating that Jay left because he was upset at the amount of good players they weren't allowed to recruit due to Cheek's restraints.

If this is already posted, don't flame. I looked for it, but didn't want to go through all 28 pages of this thread. Also, don't know if it has already been posted, but someone on TOS said that Ainge tweeted that he would spill the truth to the CJG story tomorrow on his show.
