Jeronne Maymon update

Frankly, as a healthcare consumer, I think the HMO's and the current system of middle men, insurance companies, and lawyers has increased the cost and lowered the quality of healthcare. Trying to blame the current downward trend in healthcare on something that's not in place has everything to do with politics and nothing to do with reality.

Blame it on the lawyers.

Yep, this is ALSO Dooley's fault.

"As Tennessee gets ready to head into December there's still no clear-cut resolution on when Jeronne Maymon will return to action. Cuonzo Martin's standard line on Maymon's return was that he would miss all of November. Well, November has come and gone now and the senior forward doesn't look to be on the verge of returning.

Maymon still hasn't returned to practice and appears to have an obvious limp when simply walking around. On Tuesday he was seen leaving Pratt Pavilion on crutches. No one around the Tennessee program has suggested to us that he may miss the entire season, but simply from our view, that possibility seems to at least be out there the longer his injury lingers.

Since the injury has prevented him from doing any kind of conditioning work, even when he does get cleared you have to think it's going to take several weeks of work before he's approaching being in game shape.

In short, there's nothing encouraging to relay about Maymon's potential return right now."

Well, he's got 10 months to get healed and in basketball shape. If some type of surgery is an option for treatment, then maybe he should go ahead and do it.

Some people won't agree but Maymon is our best player. He is our leader, our captain, and a big threat especially inside with Stokes, Hall, and Yemi(idk how to spell his last name). So if isn't good to go in January and say it gets worse do y'all think he could possibly get a medical redshirt and keep him again next year? Idk if it is like in football if you're hurt and cant play and apply for one you can get an extra year.

I agree, kind of. I think Stokes is the most talented player we have. But Maymons intangibles are through the roof, and he's the heart and soul of this team. IMO Losing either guy is equally damaging for various reasons. With Maymon I think we are sweet 16, possibly elite 8. Without him we are a bubble team. IMO And yes he can redshirt.

Bubble?
We were almost a bubble team last season with Maymon and Stokes.
Only bubbles we'll see without Maymon will be in the suds.
7-5 9-9 at best.

We were a bubble team because of early loses pre-stokes. Jordy and Josh have improved. Hall looks better, which isn't saying a whole lot. Added Q, Moore, and Edwards. After the top 4-5 teams the sec is just bad. We will be a bubble team. Depending on if we can unlock the puzzle, that is teams playing zone we will be fine.

Would Maymon need a medical redshirt or does he still have his redshirt? I feel like he played a half year at Marquette, then played after fall semester the next year at Tennessee, and then played last year. That means that he played 3 in 3, correct? AKA he can still redshirt

Article in the KNS this morning that quotes Maymon's dad as saying Jeronne's knee "is a hundred percent healthy." That his biggest problem now is not being in basketball shape.

I mean...if that's true...I'll take Maymon in a few 3-minute bursts, beginning tonight.

Did you happen to read the rest of the article?

Maymon can't even run, he's walking on a treadmill right now.

Hopefully he's ready soon.

Too much secrecy surrounding this. It's looking more and more like he's done for the year which sucks. Hopefully, the only loss is Hall and McBee next year and Stokes doesn't try and test the draft waters. Right now, he's not ready.

If his buddy Maymon comes back I don't think he'll leave. Those two down low with Hubbs, Golden, Richardson, and McRae could be a very very dangerous team!

Still appears to be limping. Not calling his dad a liar, but doesn't look 100% to me.

His dad is stating his knee is structurally 100%, meaning the surgery did its job. He's not saying that there isnt an infection that's causing pain in Jeronne's knee.

If he has had infection in that joint for this long I can assure you it is not structurally %100.

Are you a surgeon?

How does having an infection you got because of the surgery mean that the surgery didn't fix what you were working on?
