No joke. Can't the kid get a job?

BTW all he did while he was here was WIN.

He did put 34 W's (I think that's right) on the board but some forget that. I dare say that's 34 more than any of the posters here have won for UT.

We also need to remember that this is a public board. There are recruits, parents, and players that stop by occasionally. Please at least show a little class as a fan.

Even through this, I'd say this board is tamer than other SEC boards. Mainly because of the fact that a lot of SEC fans are

You are right about that, even when Clausen outplayed him leading up to the season Fulmer still tried like hell to keep Ainge as the starter.

You mean "like heck" don't you?

Granted Casey Clausen didn't have a rocket of an arm and he may not have been Suma Cum Laude in the graduation ceremony but I think the Casey Clausen bashers need to look at reality. He was a winner for us; won more than Schuler or Kelly and second only to Manning. The record proves his value if anyone really cares about facts, history and statistics.

Casey gave a sense of confidence and unshakeability in the huddle. He wasn't a nervous wreck who got happy feet when the chips were down.

Give him credit, he did a good job for the Vols.

Good...as long as he doesn't go to Spurriur U, I don't go where he goes. Although, it looks like Notre Dame is getting some studs...

We can't get the best Clausen. That sucks. I hope Jimbo Clausen gets "RACKED" at South Bend. Hopefully we will get to play him and "RACK" him really good. He should have come to TN and played at the "RACKDOME."

no more clausens please

i am tired of hering the clausen name

both of the qbs wore horrible
and now casey is a coach at Miss St (whats up with that)

If we had had Casey Clausen last year, our national championship aspirations would have been a lot more feasible. I never understood why everyone loved Ainge so much but hated Casey so much. Think how much better our offense would have been last year with a level headed guy like Casey calling the shots instead of Captain Interception, Erik Ainge.

i never understand posts like these. so what if he has clausen in his name. casey wasnt the greatest qb but he's alot better than what we've been seeing lately. statements like these are basically like saying you dont want somebody just because of their last name which is ridiculously stupid. cj leak wasnt that great of a quarterback either but look at his brother, chris, which is far beyond cj's success. just because they are brothers doesnt mean they both have the same playing ability. was casey or rick the #1 recruit out of high school? no, which supports the fact that jimmy is more prestigious than rick and casey's playing days. everybody can turn out to be different brothers or not. i dont care who you are, but if you are the number 1 recruit out of high school, then i'll take him anyday. just my :twocents:

This is a quote directly from Jimmy Clausen in an interview with ESPN. Not sure if this has been posted yet or brought to anyone's attention, but in case not here it is...

Yeah, this is a business decision," Clausen said. "My two older brothers did this, and their dreams were to get to the NFL, and their dreams pretty much got shattered."

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/recruiting/...tory?id=2417732 That is the link for the entire article, but I couldn't help wonder if he was slamming the UT coaches for the way they developed (or didn't develop, actually) Casey and Rick during their time on the Hill...???

Well his two older brothers lacked one thing essential to realizing their dream to get to the NFL, NFL caliber talent. I guess we'll have to wait and see on little Jimmy.

I was aware there was a forum about him, but i didn't want to take the time to read through all the posts to see if anyone had mentioned this quote. If so, I apologize...

sounds like a slam to me.........it is true that casey could have probably been developed a little bit more but rick was a lost cause. no nfl team is going to sign a player that lacks that much physical ability. rick had the mind but not the other aspects of the game. hope we get notre dame on our schedule. sad to see that he has a chip on his shoulder and resorts to taking shots at us.....if thats the case then he's lost my respect

I can't say one way or another... The case it could be a slam is against Rick, because of the constant rotation with Ainge. But with Casey, Tennessee gave Casey every opportunity to shine, through good teams and bad and he was there for the duration.

Either way, you guys need to LIGHTEN UP.

I very seriously doubt that he was taking any sort of shot at Tennessee...

Lighten up? No one is crying about it if he was. Honestly, i could not care less if he did mean that as a cheap shot against Tennessee, I was just wondering if anyone else took it that way. I don't think anyone on this board, including the ones that agree he meant it as an insult, will lose any sleep over not getting this guy. Actually, I am willing to bet that most all of us want them on our schedule...
