Little brat. :moon2:
:disappointed:

Or maybe it was because Casey just couldn't break himself in after a few years of NFL Europe... Or when Rick realized, on his own terms and without anybody else's influence who was even remotely related to UT, that he just didn't have NFL-level skills?

Reason? Anybody?

Lighten up? No one is crying about it if he was. Honestly, i could not care less if he did mean that as a cheap shot against Tennessee, I was just wondering if anyone else took it that way. I don't think anyone on this board, including the ones that agree he meant it as an insult, will lose any sleep over not getting this guy. Actually, I am willing to bet that most all of us want them on our schedule...
I didn't say you guys were crying about it...

Nevermind, I'm peacing out of this thread. There's no way this one will possibly turn out any good

He was supposed to commit verbally to be a Golden Domer this morning last I heard....did anyone else hear that? That was reported on ESPN last night, I heard it was gonna be televised but wasn't up in time to see if it was and if he did...Let him go, I think Cutcliffe will bring Ainge to form this year....He won't be bobbling to QB's this year, that's for sure

Yeah, this is a business decision," Clausen said. "My two older brothers did this, and their dreams were to get to the NFL, and their dreams pretty much got shattered."
Well it sounds like a shot at Tennessee to me. I don't see how Casey's dreams got shattered. He was a 4 year starter. He had a pretty damn good recieving corps, so he really dosen't have anyone to blame but himself. He had every opportunity to show the league scouts what he could do. Rick is just not an NFL player, and no ammount of coaching is going to change that :twocents:

He made the best decision for him, Can't rip a kid for how he sees things. He sees that both his brothers came to UT, one highly touted in Casey Clausen, and didnt have a post career after tennessee, He wanted to try a different route then his brothers, no big deal. Best of luck to him.

This is a quote directly from Jimmy Clausen in an interview with ESPN. Not sure if this has been posted yet or brought to anyone's attention, but in case not here it is...

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/recruiting/...tory?id=2417732 That is the link for the entire article, but I couldn't help wonder if he was slamming the UT coaches for the way they developed (or didn't develop, actually) Casey and Rick during their time on the Hill...???

I respect your opinion but I don't see a knock on UT at all. What I see is since they didn't make it, it motivates Jimmy more to keep working out to keep putting in the extra effort so he doesn't come up short as well.Personally, I think had Tennessee had a good season last year he would have showed more interest in us.BTW, David Wolke, second string QB on Notre Dame, his parents are huge UT fans, and he was too but UT never recruited him.He was a good qb in high school.

That's the way I read it too. I think he meant it in the context of his overall makeup; not just the college he chose, although playing for Weis is obviously a big part of the plan.

I once read where an NFL scout who wanted to be unnamed was talking about Tennessee quarterbacks and he said that ton of what was wrong with the Clausen's was all the stuff that is coached. He said there footwork, and throwing motion were just terrible. He said no NFL teams wanted to take Casey because of how long it would take to get rid of their bad habbits in how they played. That is coaching right there, I think a big part of their faliure had to do with who they were coached by, Randy Sanders. He also was talking about how good of a job UT did with Tee Martain in that he wasnt talented but we made him play like he was.

Like I said guys, we need to "RACK" him. I hope The Big Orange gets a chance to "RACK" him good. He is going to get "RACKED" for making comments like he made. People that make those type of comments tend to get "RACKED" later in life. I hope he turns out to be a sorry RACKBALL player. I wish him no luck and hope he falls flat on his face. I remember the days when he loved the vols. He used to wear a jersey that was one half TN and other half LSU. That was when Casey and Rick were on opposite sidelines. I remember seeing him at several Vol Walks wearing that thing. Everyone adored him and how he is taking jabs at our program. I am sorry, but I hope he gets "RACKED." RACK HIM BIG ORANGE RACK HIM.

Hello, Hello, Hello. Who is the high now?

Man I just watched Jimmy Clausen on ESPN and he said he has been out recruiting some of the best athletes to come to ND with him and (this is where it gets good) win four national championships. He was talking about never losing a game in his four years.

Hopefully for his sake between now and when he gets to South Bend he'll find that fine line between being confident and being stupid.

Sounds like a Clausen to me. Can't believe he didn't predict four heisman trophies and stealing Charlie Weiss' wife. That will have to wait until he is a sophomore.

I know not many people share my opinion, but I couldn't be happier that the staff won't be fixated on recruiting JC.

While I don't agree with the Clausen bashing, I think you make a good point. If we're not going to get a top prospect, it's definitely a plus for us to have him commit early not have to spend time and resources recruiting him.

Anything to avoid another Chris Leak/Chris Simms fiasco.

Stupid remarks aside, I do credit JC with a refreshing decision to forego the signing day circus that has become so popular.

I could not agree with you more. Probably has something to do with his desire to lead his entire highschool team to his chosen school.

IMO it is the smartest choice he could have made.

I'm in no way bashing the Clausens but it seems as though his brothers and parents might have puffed Jimmy's head up a little too much. He may not be able to play ball at all if he can't pull the helmet over his swelled head. :biggrin2:
