JJJ

Loved the performance by James but it makes you wonder what it takes to motivate him. He took 18 shots. That's more shots than he took in his previous 6 games all total.

He had a great game. Get ready for the disappearing act. We all know it's coming.

He isn’t going to score 26 a game. But his “disappearing act” happened around the time he started wearing a hand wrap. He didn’t have it tonight. Maybe he was just hurt? Only time will tell.

JJJ almost never “disappears”. He just doesn’t always get his points or other stats. But he’s always contributing something. Getting into passing lanes and initiating steals that he doesn’t get credited with. Altering shots but not being credited with blocks since he didn’t touch the basketball. NOT turning the ball over while touching it many times during possessions. Helping out on defense. Also playing great defense WITHOUT fouling.

On any single possession, generally only one player out of 10 can be credited with a basket or a rebound or an assist or a steal or a block. That doesn’t mean that the other 9 players have disappeared. There’s a reason that JJJ might have the fewest points while having the most minutes. The coaches see it.

It’s fair to claim that he “dissappears” from the points line in the box score. But he’s also an unselfish, pass first player working alongside one of the most aggressive scorers in UT history. It isn’t going to work if the lineup is all shoot first players.

This x100. Spot on. Hope the JJJ 'haters' can hear your solid argument. He is being unfairly judged by one single stat... the point line. SMH.

Before this game I said that it's time for another fools gold hot streak from JJJ. He's probably gonna win us a couple more games in the next few. Good for him. I have zero confidence in him come tourny time though. He has one more chance to prove me wrong and prove the JJJ always gets a free pass crowd right.
I don’t think he gets/deserves a free praise, but my stance has and will be this…our ceiling is higher with JJJ & Vescovi than say Carr & Dillione. Will we reach that ceiling, who knows, but their “good” is better than those other guys “good” at this point imo.

A no show and the defense and rebounding weren't there either. He wasn't the only one. It's that he and Vescovi are in their 5th year. Man we could use ORN in these situations.

^ 💯 !!! The inconsistency from JJJ ANS SV is very disappointing. Those two SHOULD be leading this team, not disappearing. Enough of this nonsense about intangibles not in box score! They’re basketball players and paid to SCORE but can’t even make layups! Those two frequently pass up wide open jump shots (especially shots that fit their game) only to take a worse shot or make a horrible pass that destroys the flow of offense. From a chemistry and performance standpoint, those two appear to be more of the problem than solutions. They look like entitled pouting seniors and nobody wants to admit it. If they’re gonna stand around and not lead this team, then they need to be on the bench.

Our super seniors are supposed to lead when we run into a game like this, but they act like a freshman playing their 1st game

They seem so unreliable. I just don't know what they are positively adding to the team that a young player on the bench couldn't add. If that is the case, then we must have no depth.
