Joe Milton 2.0 (merged)

Nico and Joe are both very talented QB prospects. Joe is on his way to a successful career in the NFL. The problem is the coaching and play calling, not the players. I think there are personnel issues on the offensive unit, primarily along the offensive line, but I don't think we lack for talented quarterbacks. I think that was the worst called game of the heupel era.
Nico is talented but lacks IQ and vision

I have doubts that Faizon stays if we keep coming in with 8-3 types of seasons. I don’t know the kid and surely hope I’m wrong, but we need to show we can consistently not drop winnable games to keep these 5* kids .
You’re right…..you don’t know the kid.

Prove you wrong? Anyone who seriously believes that is a complete idiot.

Milton was a 6-year senior and this kid has played 6 f***king games. What kind of fan base quits on a 5-star freshman QB after one bad game? Fortunately it's probably just the keyboard warriors on social media.
So far, Nico doesn’t look like he has the “magic eye,” to quote Training Day. That’s not something that you can really teach. Maybe the game will slow down for him and we’ll start to see it, but we haven’t so far.

You guys taking troll bait is absolutely hilarious. Good stuff Tommy 😂

Nico is the real deal. Great accuracy QB.
Problem with people is that they don't know how to have patience. Just a bunch of spoiled babies.

I don't think he's proven he's the "real deal" yet. Hopefully it happens very soon.

Prove me wrong
It is very wrong, As pointed out Milton was a 6th year senior. His freshman year he was not as good as Nico has been thus far in his 6 games. The one thing is all the Nico should have started last year over Milton should be done now. Nico now is not as good as Joe Milton now. But Nico is on pace to be better sooner than later. The big problems with this team this year have all centered around the same place they did last year and we keep blaming the QB's. Oline.....

Joe Milton Made an NFL roster. Think about that. He is still dressing weekly not on practice squad but on an active roster. He is not nearly as bad as people made him out to be. neither is Nico now. Protect him on a regular basis, don't get stupid procedure penalties and Nico looks like a different person.

Nico is a RS freshman....I don't get why people cant see that. he is not a bad QB.. I the SEC only 2 QB's have thrown 2 or less ints and on as many attempts as him. The only other underclassman starting at QB in the SEC putting up better numbers than him is Arch. He's better than Jackson Arnold and LaNoris Sellers and Micheal Hawkins and the guy we likely see next week DJ Lagaway. He is also better than most of the upperclassmen on other teams. I wouldn't trade him for any QB in the sEC except for maybe Arch. Because the only other QB's better than him are gonna be in the NFL draft come April.

I hope you’re correct about Nico’s progression. Im cheering for him and his team.

I am not a Milton or Nico hater. Simply an observer.

- Joe and Nico both ran the ball out of bounds with no time remaining without giving his receivers an opportunity. Inexcusable at any level of college ball.
- At times, Joe and Nico can and do throw incredible balls. At times they throw ducks, At times they do not not find open receivers. They both lack consistency.
- I suggest Nico runs much like Joe. This said, if Nico is as advertised, he needs to learn to do a better job of protecting himself. I’d love to see him lower his shoulder and truck DBs… but not smart.
EDIT: His coaches can help with quicker release short passes and screens maybe?

I’ll go further and say I believe Josh Heupel is easily a top 10 college coach and TN needs to ride with him and give him the tools and staff to succeed.

Snap back! Cheers to a disciplined game against the gators from all phases of the game this Saturday!

GBO (and Nico 😀)

You're overrating him big time. He hasn't had a single great game against anyone with a pulse. We have had plenty of years where qb play was better.

We’ve only had two double digit win seasons in 20 years. Some of those years we had rosters loaded with NFL talent but only in 2022 did we have a Heisman candidate at QB. The only time we had the best passer in the country was in 2022 and it wasn’t even close the rest of those 20 years.

This is the growing up year for Nico. He will get better and the game will slow down. In the meantime, Heup and Halzle need to help him out. Slants, wheel routes and quit throwing slow developing lateral passes to the damn sideline. Focus on every play staying ahead of the chains to help out our qb.
