Joe Milton 2.0 (merged)

Yeah that hurricane is headed my way, although it will hit Tampa first. At least it isn't names Tebow.
Be prepared. Make arrangements to get out of the way if you can. Just not worth it.

BTW, I have to admit I’ve come to respect Tim for the great work he’s doing outside of football.

Yeah me too. (about Tebow). He's a good guy except for that damned gator DNA. We are boarding up tomorrow. I have a trip on Monday and the wife will probably bug out on Tuesday or Wednesday. We've done this before. I agree that hanging around ain't worth it. As a matter of fact, if it hits Tampa as a Cat 3, anyone who stays is an idiot.

So you’re OK with an elite QB running out of bounds and not making a play on the final play of the game. Check.
No, I'm not okay with any quarterback doing it, there's just more hope for a redshirt freshman who does it vs. a 5th year senior. That's apples and oranges.

P.S. while Nico may have "elite" potential, I wouldn't say he is an elite quarterback, he has done nothing to earn that description yet.

You'll hear freshman vs 6th year player, but for a highly ranked 5 star qb he sucks
Tonight was anything but impressive. As a matter of fact, he has only had a few great throws all year against weak competition. That being said, this game was the best defense he has seen. Let's see how he rebounds before anointing him the next JG. I'll wager if we beat Gata, all will be forgiven.

That’s no excuse. How many brain cells does it take to know you have to throw ball to endzone on last play.
Exactly. People saying that “but he’s just a redshirt freshman”. We are paying this kid over 2 million a year. This is a business now. Johnny football, famous Jamous both won heismen trophies as redshirt freshmen. Look what arch is doing. Heck look at Dylan Raiola, it’s his true freshman season. There isn’t an excuse for not throwing the ball up with no time on the clock. He’s played alot of football in his lifetime to know that.

The last play showed a lack of awareness but the receivers did him no favors with dropped balls. The receivers have to get better at getting separation. Not many options out there
Actually the corner of the end zone route was there had Nico had his eyes down field. But the receiver made the cut there just as Nico looked down to scramble. Had he sent it to the left corner it was there easily.

Damn our staff for calling that run out of bounds with no seconds on the clock!
I’m sure that was a panicked QB who was obviously nervous and not thinking clearly. Do you think he told the coaches to run on every play cause I’m nervous…….naw, he wasn’t calling the plays. He was bad but this is not all on him. There is plenty of blame to go around.

2 QBs do this under one coach. Surely a coach should be telling the qb before they go out for the final play. Hey no matter what the ball has to go to the end zone. No matter if you have to sling one with hopes and prayers or you take off running and start the desperation lateralling around to try and advance it. But DO NOT take a sack or give yourself up out of bounds.

Yes the qb should understand this anyways but I can see in an environment like that when your heart rate is probably jacked. It should be the coaches who give you the last most important reminder. So to me Heupel and Halze get the majority of blame.

But you don't know if they told him that or not. You are just pulling this out your bleep hole

The play calling tonight was abysmal. That’s def on this coaching staff. And if Heupel has to tell Nico to not go out of bounds with no time on the clock then Nico is def not the guy. You shouldn’t have to tell him that in that situation.

Tua won the Natty as a freshman and benched Hurts.
All 3 of those guys Hurts, Tua and Mac were throwing to Jeudy, Waddle and Ruggs and behind the best O Line in the conference and maybe country. We have some talented receivers and some talented O lineman. That group at Bama was something else though.

Still he was a freshman, took a big sack for loss of yards. I remember thinking well that's game, freshman gonna be shook and then he wound up throwing that bomb TD to win the Natty

My only gripe that falls solely or even mostly on Nico’s shoulders is running out of bounds with no time on the clock. Put the ball in play and give someone a chance
