Is it true he was here Saturday because they were honoring Majors? It was posted here a few days ago and can't get an answer.

BUMPPPPPP for the Doorights again:

Oh, the Doorights are gonna love this one. ESPN NFL segment just a few minutes ago...

What say you Barbaras? :rock::rock::rock:

I kid to get under some skin sometimes.....but I have long been a proponent and actually believe it's possible.

Hey....lets revive the old Gruden thread from '09. It was EPIC!! Who's with me??

Negative.

His comments on ESPN makes it seem like he wishes he was here though. And not to honor Majors.

Roll with it brother.

I'll include my little tidbit from ESPN on it.

Dooley lovers going :loco:

He was here, yes, but mostly he was "consumating" the deal with Dave Hart. The details are somewhat risque, but ironclad in their certainty. The wives were also involved.

Jimmy Hyams is set to release a statement in September 2018.

Thanks for the answer and I agree. People say it's crazy , but I think it might happen. One can hope anyway. I just don't know how Dooley will survive this season. Look at this fan base after one loss. I really think he is a good person , but not much of a football coach. I think he is giving it all he has and it's just not enough. I'm not sure there are many that could do much with the situation he walked into. If it is time to make a move , Gruden is number one on my list.

UT is still paying off fulmer and pearl--they can't afford to fire dooley, pay him millions then hire another coach for $5 mil / year or more.

Those big boys just have to pull their weight, Mike. The skill talent in Nashville and Knoxville makes an offensive minded coach like myself drool.

So Gruden thinks a team set at the skill positions could recover from a bad start? And then he likens the talent in Knoxville to that in Nashville.

Interesting

The Titans play in the worst division in the NFL. Vols don't have that going for them.

If Dooley could coach in the SWAC, he might rack up a few W's. As it stands, he's never going to win at a high level in the SEC.

How much weight do you give to this Gruden talk?

He's Dave Hart's top target, and he'll have a ton of money thrown at him. UT has a shot.

I'm not sure if Gruden will be on the sidelines in Knoxville next year, but I'm damn confident that Dooley won't.

So it's not Kirby Smart anymore like DeerPark and LWS have said? Not sure who your source is , but I hope this is true.

Gruden would be a desirable candidate, no doubt.

I understand that he is a competitor and may want to coach again. However, I'm skeptical towards him leaving that sweet commentator gig to step into this headache.

If he does coach again, my guess would be NFL.

Thanks for the reply.

Not Jay, but there is no doubt Gruden wants to coach again. He's said it himself. Tirico said it himself. ESPN has said it.

Just depends on where.

I'll piss in it

Why? Are you turned off by someone who has won with two different organizations? Someone who won despite the fact his starting quarterbacks were Rich Gannon, Brad Johnson, and Chris Simms? Someone who would be a beast on the recruiting trail? Someone who could put together a top-notch coaching staff because of his connections? Why would you piss in the hat?
