Since it's a well-known fact that I despise Jon Gruden (I'm not the only one on here), and would rather be kicked in the sack on an hourly basis by a Clydesdale than have that piece of garbage prowling (and yes, scowling, seems to be a "trademark" of his) the sidelines at Neyland, lemme just go ahead and repost this yet again and see how many of you are
STILL blinded by a (*expletive deleted*) Super Bowl ring.
Here's what the Glazers paid for Gruden.
2002 and 2003 1st round draft picks
2002 and 2004 2nd round draft picks
$8 million
Hell of an investment for one Super Bowl, amiright?? Yet, I get questioned on how Gruden gutted the Buccaneers. Wait, no, this can be blamed on the Glazer family (owners of the Buccaneers). SO, lemme do this, too. These are the statistics I was talking about before.
TB 2002 12 4 0 .750 1st in NFC South
TB 2003 7 9 0 .438 3rd in NFC South
TB 2004 5 11 0 .312 4th in NFC South
TB 2005 11 5 0 .688 1st in NFC South
TB 2006 4 12 0 .250 4th in NFC South
TB 2007 9 7 0 .563 1st in NFC South
TB 2008 9 7 0 .563 3rd in NFC South
TB Total 57 55 0 .509
So, you're willing to bet the farm on a coach that's two games over .500 in his last job?? Mmkay, let's dig a little deeper, shall we?? Take a peek at this, with special emphasis on the years 2002-2008.

I think my point is clear. Those are rankings out of 32 teams. The main thing that saved Gruden and made him look as good as he did for so long was Monte Kiffin's defense. Wait, wait, wait, I hear someone in the back of the class saying "but Gruden was the head coach, he controlled the defense as well". Not true. Gruden claims to be an "offensive genius", and Monte Kiffin was arguably the best DC in the NFL during that time. Not exactly someone you tell "hey, we're gonna do this my way". Gruden controlled the offense, Kiffin the defense.
I hope that with these FACTS, I've more than proved my point. Jon Gruden needs to stay as far away as possible from the University of Tennessee. Hire the head coach at Fayetteville HS instead (random school because I lived in Fayetteville when I was a kid).
