The only reason i would want DD gone if he goes 8-4 this year is if Hart gets Gruden lined up, if thats not possible, then give him another year, if he goes 7-5 it would hurt, but i can see him getting another year if they can't find the right guy to hire, i really don't see another home run hire unless Carroll wants to come back to college, Strong would be the best candidate currently coaching a college team imo, but i don't think he would be the right hire. I don't think the best thing for the program right now would be to fire Dooley unless Gruden would take the job, Carroll maybe, but i'd rather have Gruden.

Carroll would be a cancer. Nice guy, but he would get this program shut down with what he allows to go on. If Dooley goes 7-5, I will be relieved. After everything I've watched this season, I honestly believe we will be lucky to go 6-6. It's the same ole crap with the bad second half adjustments on both offense and defense. I really really hope he proves me wrong and goes on to 11-1. I don't want the program to have instability and I honestly like the guy. I really like the fact that he's kept the players in line for the most part and at least brought some honor back to the program.

Carroll is a winner, his record speaks for itself, if your criteria of a dirty program is the kind that Carroll ran, then you can put Bama and Florida up there too, and they seem to be doing pretty good right now. USC would still be ranked 3 or 4 right now if Kiffin wasn't coaching them, he's a lights out recruiter but a sub-par gameday coach, remember the 09' Ole Miss game...

EDIT: With that being said, i would still be a little nervous with Carroll being hired considering what happened after he left for Seattle, Gruden is a take hands down tho.

Don't care how you think, it's rather obvious what you think,,,,with the gruden love fest and all.

It's obvious you do care how I think if you want Dooley to prove me wrong and change my thought process, I hope he proves me wrong too, but he hasn't given me a reason to believe he can get it done. I don't see whats so wrong with that kind of reasoning.

There are very few people who are down on CDD who would not be darn excited to be proven wrong.

Vicki for example.

Not to be a negavol and I hope Gruden does come here if CDD doesn't perform a miracle the rest of the season.

But

1) Haslam owns the browns now.
2) Browns are horriable and needs a new coach as we do at UT.
3) Haslam being the owner of the Browns and also one of our bigger donors. Why donate so that UT can hire him instead of hiring him at Cleveland do that he can help his new investment?

Just something to think about and just to get it straight I'm on your all's side want him here at UT.

:eek:lol: @ kiss where I defecate from.

And you, sir, may kiss where I defecate from. Tell ya what, on the day that Gru-bage is named HFC at UT.....I'll start the "Fire Gruden" thread. You don't have to post in it right away, but you'll make it in there eventually. Mark my words.

And as for your comment about me making a bad AD....never said I was trying to be the AD. I'm simply trying to get y'all to take your blinders off. Mike Ditka's got a SB ring. Bill Cowher has a SB ring. Tony Dungy has a SB ring. ALL of these are LIGHT YEARS better than Gruden has EVER been.

Yet, I get questioned on how Gruden gutted the Buccaneers. Wait, no, this can be blamed on the Glazer family (owners of the Buccaneers). SO, lemme do this, too. These are the statistics I was talking about before.
Yeah, you didn't really address that at all.

Just because i've lost confidence in him doesn't mean i hope he loses, that's my reasoning right now. Does that classify me as a "negavol", imo it doesn't because i want Dooley to be the guy but i just don't think he has it. He could prove me wrong, who knows?

Allow me to clarify. I worded that poorly.
I meant most people down on CDD would be very happy if he started winning. I was agreeing with you in a way.

The Vicki thing was a shot at a poster who would be sad. She knows who I'm talking to

Maybe Gruden doesn't want to go to the Browns, maybe he wants to go to a college, maybe he finds the aspect of recruiting and being in control of his own roster appealing, maybe he likes the opportunity to coach up 18-22 yr old kids that aren't getting paid and have passion for their team, maybe he feels he can be more successful in college and have better job security.

I think Gruden could relate to kids that age really well, it could translate into getting stud recruits and the players buying in to his system and playing their hearts out for him.

When is the last time the Browns have been good? I'd say Gruden has a far greater chance to have success in Knoxville.
