Other than the fact that he is a great TV personality, can anyone explain the interest in Gruden? This is an honest question. I like what I see him doing on TV, not sure I see why some of us are so passionate about bringing him here as the replacement for Dooley (which I don't see happening but that is another topic). Can someone lay out the logic for me?
thanks,
I meant $250.
I like you mayn. All good. Despite all said, I have no problem with different opinions. Drama queens off, or on, their meds make it out to be different.
Yeah, you're alright too. This does not mean we'll be taking long hot showers together however.
I can't wade through this whole thread...here is what I know about Gruden.
College coaching experience:
GA at UTK under Walt Harris
QB coach at South East Missouri State
Tight Ends coach at Univ of Pacific
WR coach at Pitt
NFL Experience
Offensive quality control coach at San Francisco
WR coach at Green Bay
OC at Philadelphia
HC at Oakland (40-28 overall)
HC at Tampa (Super Bowl win in year 1, then went 45-51 over the next 6 years)
When I look at his college experience, I see no Coordinator time and no Head Coach time. When I look at his NFL experience, I see he got fired twice after under performing for the bulk of his career. Yes, he won a Super Bowl, but there is debate on whether that was him or the previous coach setting things up right.

I'll gladly "roll the dice" with someone other than Dooley who is sought out by kids around the country for his advice. Here some good info if you haven't seen it:

thanks,
I think recruiting is about relationships. He would be behind on that.
