Yet, after winning one ring, and all those supposed hours involved, he managed a sub .500 record. Look, Gruden looks good from the outside, but the man has NEVER recruited at a level needed to win in the SEC. That's what we need RIGHT NOW, someone with the relationships with current HS coaches, so we can get the players we need to win.

Eric, gruden would be a huge upgrade. He would outwork so many coaches and with his clinics, he has a network that is unreal.

Yes. Because he has stayed in the game. He visits and has learned COLLEGE offenses from different coaches, and travels all over for clinics.

Not sure about the homerun. He would be a very solid and safe choice. When I think homerun I would think of someone that every sports media outlet would want to follow. There are just a few out there that garner the that. I would like to see a big splash hire as much as a good coach. Getting Gruden says UT is on par with an NFL gig as well as the elite in college football where getting Strong means we are a better destination than Louisville. I was a bit excited when Lovie's plane was in the air but that was not meant to be.

That's just more proof that Tampa's defense won that championship. Just a year before, Trent Dilfer won a SB with the Ravens, yet no college is knocking down Brian Billick's door to have him coach.

No, he just doesn't have the relationships in HS's we need right now to recruit with the big dogs. Do we even know if he wants to recruit?? Studying film all day, is COMPLETELY different than recruiting.
