Jon Gruden to Miami FL (merged)

Idaho is 5-6
I'll give you Delaware, they are good - for a division 2 team

Randy Shannon averaged 3.25 players drafted per year for 13 total over 4 years. The four years prior The U averaged 7.75 per year with 31 total.

They won a title in '91 and '01. They won the ACC 9 times between '91 and '03.

How did they win a conference they didn't even play in?

John Gruden is a complete moron. Not because he didn't take the Miami job, just in general. Anyone?

He clearly doesn't know the football that you do and has had a hard time finding a way to make a living in the game.

No, they fizzled and popped twice in a frigging decade. The fact remains they've lost the sparkle.

Yet you said they haven't had it since the '80s. I would say that winning 9 conference titles and two national championships isn't really indicative of losing one's "sparkle". They started going down hill once Butch Davis's players started getting drafted/graduated in the early '00s. What about all the NFLer's you said Shannon put in the league? No rebuttal to facts I posted?

I think Gruden would make a terrible college coach. He'd kill in recruiting because of who he is, but wouldn't be able to handle the kids once they got to campus. Doesn't have the right temperament for the trade IMO.

Because Dungy killed it in TB prior and his defensive prowess in Indy was a thing to behold.

Irrelevant to the point. Gruden is an average coach at best. Dungy built the team that won the Super Bowl.

Gruden came in the house with the table set, tucked a napkin down the neck of his shirt and ate the dinner laying there. Then lost with a team that coulda' had more than one ring.

He definitely has forgotten more about football than I will ever know, and he did take two teams to Super Bowls.

Still a moron.

Who built Oakland? Mike White? Joe Bugel? Crazy Al?

Really? I don't remember Dungy putting the team together himself.

Gruden came in the house with the table set, tucked a napkin down the neck of his shirt and ate the dinner laying there. Then lost with a team full of aging players that was eventually taken apart by the owners.

He didn't get Oakland to the Super Bowl, but he did improve them a lot. They became awful soon after he left.

Or if he can dumb down an offense enough for the practice time available.

I still think Gruden can be an excellent college coach though.
