Josh Heupel on tonights “Officiating”

Ah the officiating excuse. Happens every single TN loss and every time we play bad.
So you are saying the officiating was good? If UT was holding on those screens then APSU was and vice versa. They weren't doing anything different. Hadden's two INTs probably shouldn't have been called but since they were then the two in the end zone by APSU should have been.

There are always questionable calls. There are always calls that fans dispute. These weren't questionable. That crew was flat out awful to the point where I wondered if they weren't betting on the spread.

You guys do understand that you can recognize that the team played poorly and the officials sucked at the same time, right?

Milton was off target and out of rhythm. Every receiver had at least one drop. The OL blew assignments repeatedly.

And yeah... the officiating was absolutely awful.

I suspect Heupel recognizes that the team played poorly. And he was also hacked off about the officiating.

Each week every team puts together calls they think were bad and sends it to the SEC. The one UT sends should prompt an investigation or suspension of that crew. They were that bad.

This especially the last statement - they were that bad.

No one has even mentioned that there should have been at least 3 more delay penalties called on AP.

Regardless, the offense played bad, but if some of these questionable calls were made, AP would have not been in position go for it ALMOST EVERY 4th Down. And the D still held there own, just had to play a lot more than they should have.

Might be one of the worst officiated games I’ve seen. All that said, you should still beat Austin Peay by 30 even on a night where the officials are against you.
Have you seen who the officiating crew was? And I wonder who from the Birmingham office was participating in the review calls, as is their practice.

Clear you know zero about football, Tenn played very poorly but the officiating is a separate issue, was wildly inconsistent (even by HS standards) and they made up something thats not in the rule book to avoid overturning the fumble recovery. The no call PI on White was about as text book as they come, especially considering what they called on our corner.

Also what is this “we” stuff, were you playing? I coach HS & MS , my kids compete, coaches and especially fans do not.

I think it’s safe to say we both struggled in the game…Vols and officials!! CLEARLY….neither were at their peak performance tonight 😳😳

The Officials cousins and in laws had multiple bets on AP and 48 points and cleaned up in Vegas just keep it under 48. Everybody else is making money NIL and all have all friends and relatives bet online and share the proceeds. It happens not saying this game but it's hard to catch if you keep the bets low and spread out. The Alabama baseball coach was doing this and got too greedy to many big bets from his friends in Ohio and got caught and fired that was recent.

The SEC avers that quality officiating is provided by amateur, part-time officials.
