Josh Heupel on tonights “Officiating”

You guys do understand that you can recognize that the team played poorly and the officials sucked at the same time, right?

Milton was off target and out of rhythm. Every receiver had at least one drop. The OL blew assignments repeatedly.

And yeah... the officiating was absolutely awful.

I suspect Heupel recognizes that the team played poorly. And he was also hacked off about the officiating.

Each week every team puts together calls they think were bad and sends it to the SEC. The one UT sends should prompt an investigation or suspension of that crew. They were that bad.
One of the better comments I've seen. Throughout the game there was never a sense that we might not win the game, but the dropped balls and other mistakes obviously affected the final score. It seemed to me, I saw consistent holding on AP that was rarely called and the (IMHO) fumble recovery seemed like an easy call on the review, but even the announcers didn't understand the ruling. Uninspired play, 4th down conversions, inconsistent officiating and murphy's law all contributed to the final score. Perhaps this experience will help the focus next week.

Lol, look at who's making it a big deal.

Maybe the rules need to be changed, but their QB was rewarded multiple times for grossly under throwing the ball. That's chicken S@@@.
The one late in the game where Hadden wasn't even touching the guy was one of the worst PI calls I've ever seen. I couldn't believe that one. Surprised Mustard and water bottles didn't litter the field after that one.

Refs were straight trash.

Even Rucker called them out on X/Twitter.
Doug Mathews today said four of the officials were from other conferences who were being tried out by SEC. Also said veteran SEC officials would not have made the holding calls on our WRs, they normally don’t call it if hands are on inside of the jersey vs outside.

Somebody mentioned they were ACC in the game thread idk.

Yes, someone did mention they were ACC at one point in the thread, but several have come back and pointed out they were in fact an SEC crew. The link to the article about the head ref being a manager at Alabama Power pretty much settles the issue.

There were a couple bad calls…but what is targeting if a guy launching off his feet to head head of a player isn’t targeting? The rule was created for a reason and that play fit every stipulation. That was disappointing and set a precedent that AP could get away with whatever they wanted
That was just one of 5 blatant no calls.

The refs don’t play quarterback, offensive line , defense or wide receiver . Quit crying over it .
No one is crying, but get your head out of the sand. We won the game while playing subpar. Watch the game without throwing something at the screen and you will see how many really bad calls there were. The things that was worse were the at least 5 blatant no calls last night that AP committed. If not, just continue to wring your hands and be angry.

They finally caught on, db just has to turn his head and pull up a little for an easy interception.
