When you play a game in front of large crowds on national TV you're supposed to be able to perform the basic functions of your job well. He seems unable to do that. All I am saying.
Having the inability to do this is going to get you criticized. Hopefully he gets better. I would rather not see him again until the improvement occurs.
So, it's OK to make generalizations about people you don't know but it's not OK to criticize players on our football team that aren't getting the job done? I see the logic in that...
I'm pretty sure that most people would agree that watching college football is a hobby and a way to break away from the stresses of life in the real world.
The kid goes to practice, sweats and bleeds for our enjoyment as fans and it is truly pathetic that much of this criticism is likely coming from people that do nothing more than watch the game from their living room and drink beer.
The kid can't even catch screen passes. He should expect some heat from our fanbase. I have tickets to the Auburn game but sold them this morning. I'm not watching this crap. Nothing against Butch, but his playcalling has pretty much sucked this year. I don't think the read option will get us to the promised land. It's a gimmick offense unless you have Cam Newton. We need an I-form, pro style offense involving tight ends and fullbacks. This West Virginia style Tampaxx-inspired offense will not cut it even with better playmakers. Of course, none of the above matters as long as our defense plays like a hungover flag football team, arms flailing, constantly getting smoked.

His job is to play football well. If I do not do well in my job I get criticized. It is no different. I fail to see your point, Jeff.
I can put up all kinds of highlights of Calvin Johnson, Cruz, Bryant...etc dropping balls.
It happens.
Calm down
How many more dropped footballs is it gonna take to get Josh Smith off the field/out of the WR rotation for the rest of the season? He just dropped yet another perfectly thrown ball. That's gotta be 10 dropped balls this year. Dobbs put that ball on the money and it wouldve been a TD. Don't want to see that kid again on the field until he's a sophomore. He clearly cannot handle playing in the SEC as a freshman.
Not consecutively, play after play, and always on critical 3rd and longs when they're wide open.
He's worse than a receiver that can't get open because he sucks up a potential good play. Josh smith is great at getting open, and great at dropping the ball. So he gets open and ruins the play when perhaps someone else would've gotten open and actually caught the ball.
My point is that straight out of college you likely weren't hired on to be an executive. You were likely hired as an entry level associate who then had to develop his skills and go through a growing phase. Had you been hired straight into a leadership role and expected to make tough decisions after not being given the adequate training to do so, you likely would fail.
Josh Smith has not been adequate training and has not yet developed into they type of player her is expected to become.
that's a valid point but if I may offer, I've had to fire people in the business world because they couldn't do their job well enough even they were doing the best they could.....
Touché, sir. That's a good point as well, but I bet you didn't fire them after throwing them to the wolves without adequate preparation and training.
