Of course that clip Evil posted of Tucker was cut off immediately before it showed Lori Lightfoot saying how “freedom has been illusory to black Americans”. Which of course he’s using to criticize her since blacks are being murdered at record numbers in her own city. Of course Evil wouldn’t post the whole clip. But it’s also an example of how they will use the holiday to bludgeon people over the heads with how inherently racist the country is. It’s the holiday for CRT.Obviously ending slavery was good, but the timing of this in our current cultural climate signals capitulation to or pandering to the woke mob. I'm with you that it should have been a holiday all along, but I have a feeling that doing it this way at this time will only be used by the progressives as a tool to remind us all of how horrible and oppressive the United States is. I think it will end up causing worse race relations than if it hadn't been done right now.
What about my post indicated I was “making fun”? I stated an opinion about the word “Juneteenth”. I shouldn’t have had to say that a federal holiday marking the end of slavery was long overdue. But you keep being you.
That is no more ironic than making Martin Luther King's birthday a national holiday and then doing the opposite of what he advocated in judging people for the content of their character and not the color of their skin.
Nobody has introduced bills in congress to remove it as a federal holiday, but there are definitely people who say Independence Day is racist and shouldn’t be celebrated. In that segment he cites the fact on Flag day instead of celebrating the American flag she had Pan-African and Juneteenth flags (whatever that is) adorning city hall. The point was to highlight that she cares about virtue signaling about black lives and not actually doing anything about it as her city is ridden with black murders. And that was part of his segment on how she is and absolutely horrible mayor, which nobody can really deny. He's an idiot clown. It makes me laugh watching posters on here celebrate his ratings. " We are all idiots." Especially on this. I mean come on. People aren't advocating it replacing July 4th. So stop. This should be proof he's a damn clown. No better then Cuomo or anyone at CNN.
You should follow the advice I gave EL a couple of days ago.
LOL, yeah companies aren't about to add another holiday to the poor, huddled masses without figuring a way around it. My company used to have presidents day off before MLK's birthday became a holiday so they made presidents day a non holiday and made MLK an optional holiday. So you could either take MLK day off or pick any other day of the year. That pissed off a segment of employees that used to take both presidents day off and call in sick on MLK day.The company I use to work for gave us the option of moving a floating holiday to MLK day to get off or leaving it the Friday before Memorial Day. We left it at Memorial Day. Maybe “some folks” should have to choose between Juneteenth and Independence Day.
And there are people who say AA's and whites shouldn't mix. Are we going to give a platform to fringe crazy people? Stop with the fear peddling.Nobody has introduced bills in congress to remove it as a federal holiday, but there are definitely people who say Independence Day is racist and shouldn’t be celebrated.
