I took it for what it was. UConn was pretty much hugging out their win, played minimal defense, Geno told them not to foul and they were trying to force the ball in to Piath so she could score. I'd feel more confident if Karoline could have come in during the middle of the game when UConn was still playing hard and made some nice plays. We'll see if Kellie plays her more against Mizzou. I expect that game to be a dogfight. They haven't met a 3-ball they don't like shooting.I think it is significant that she played well regardless of what portion of the game. She played as well or better than anyone else on the team except Horston. She has just gotten her feet wet and will be an asset to this team.
Exactly. As good as Bashaara was, she still didn't hit those kinds of numbers. I think it's expecting a lot that Karoline will, especially with how she's struggling to adjust to the college game. However, Bashaara is only one of a handful of LVs to have over 1500 points and over 1000 rebounds. Had the LVs won a national championship during her tenure, Bashaara would be lauded much, much more for having such a great career. Indeed, if Bashaara was the 4 on this current LVs team, the SEC regular season championship, the SEC tournament championship, and the Final Four would be a foregone conclusion. GBO.
I mean the grad transfer ahead of her is contributing nothing at this point, might as well play the freshman...
She was playing against far inferior competition in that Miss vs. Alabama game. None were going to be major contributors for any halfway decent school. I think she's no different than a lot of HS players that dominate because they're bigger and stronger than the mediocre competition they face in HS, but get a reality check when most everyone they're playing against is as big or as strong, and the determining factor is how skilled of a player you actually are. She looks pretty raw out there compared to Puckett, whose game is much more developed at this stage of their careers. What I don't understand about Karoline she put up numbers in AAU ball as good or better than Puckett. They were on the same team. She also was the MVP of the MIss vs Alabama all star game. I thought she wasn't playing because Green had the experience and just wasn't any minutes left except in decided games for her to play. I trust the coaches that she is not capable of playing now so we'll see how it plays out next season.
I see the potential but she’s not ready yet. Hopefully she’ll develop and all will be well. She was playing against far inferior competition in that Miss vs. Alabama game. AAU play wasn't inferior. I don't think the talent in the All Star game was inferior either was the best players from both states. Puckett was in the game as well. She certainly hasn't been terrible when she has played this season 44 percent and 81 free throw. 3 point and 3 rebounds in seven minutes. She was playing against far inferior competition in that Miss vs. Alabama game. My understanding is Jon is not coaching the posts this year so that's not why.If John is her coach I could see why
Seriously? Nah, I heard the coaches roll the balls out, lock the gym doors, and go get their nails done during practice time. During film time they catch up on Netflix. Maybe we should email them the suggestion about actually working with the players!Does anyone on the forum know if the coaches
work individually with each player or is it a sink
Or swim situation.
Let’s not act as if dye hasn’t done anything for this team. What she has given even if it’s inconsistent is more than what Karoline is capable of doing up to this point.
The second quote is about Striplin, not Dye, but IMO could be about Dye. I think the step up in the level of play from Troy has been a bit of a struggle for her, especially lately. She's always seemed to struggle physically with the speed of the game and the extended minutes KJH needs her to play. Now she's struggling mentally as the competition level ratchets up. I still think she can help us though, I sure hope so because we desperately need her to.he's no different than a lot of HS players that dominate because they're bigger and stronger than the mediocre competition they face in HS, but get a reality check when most everyone they're playing against is as big or as strong, and the determining factor is how skilled of a player you actually are.
Regardless of what you thought of them and where they went some looked athletic from what I saw and the team she played on in AAU played against the best AAU competition. I know the coaches have a reason why she is not playing, but she has not been ineffective when she has been in there. She has given decent minutes. These are the colleges where the Miss All-Stars went to:
The forwards on their team were 5'8, 5'10 and 6'1 (2). That's not a high level of competition.

What it was is she played good basketball and improved over what she had done in the past.I took it for what it was. Her endurance could be better for sure. Hers and Rae but Rae is coming off an injury so hers is understandableMy understanding is Jon is not coaching the posts this year so that's not why.

I understood her not playing early in the season and up to the point of the Green injury. The worry is that after going through over half a season of practice and the severe need for some post help inside she is not being given much time on the floor. She appears to me to be at least capable of a few minutes based on how she responds to present playing time. I know it is usually mop up duty. I'm certainly not one of the posters claiming she is a bust seen her play enough to know she will be a really good player for us. I guess it just takes some players longer to earn the coaches trust. Certainly the coaches know best just wish they would throw her into the fire and let her give it a try a few minutes per game.
Deer park, every player wants to play. Hope another off season off workouts and training will help. However, it won't help slow twitch and fast twitch. I could see her as a force at a smaller school. Hope she stays a Ladyvol!!! Seems like a really nice girl, like Emily.
