Karoline Striplin?

One thing I can say about Walz of Louisville and I don't ever have much of anything good to say about him. He lets his freshman Verhultz play four or five minutes every game although she is struggling at this level. He still puts her in to get better because she was highly rated coming out of high school, but hasn't been able to do much at the college level to this point. He is letting her play four to five minutes with the starters everygame. I think it will help her and if not we will probably leave for another team eventually. My only thought about Stripling is after over half a season in practice she hasn't been able to break in to playing some minutes even five especially since the Green injury. I trust the coaches to determine when she is able to do this ,but really disappointing that she is not capable in their view. What does this mean for next season? Guess if we live long enough we'll find out the answer.

Deer park, every player wants to play. Hope another off season off workouts and training will help. However, it won't help slow twitch and fast twitch. I could see her as a force at a smaller school. Hope she stays a Ladyvol!!! Seems like a really nice girl, like Emily.
I doubt Karoline will be a force on a regular basis. But she can become a consistent contributor. She won't win the race down court and i don't think we will ever be awed by her hang time. But as a steady blue collar, hard worker, she can be a foundation player in a champion ship program. I will not be surprised that for her junior year, you could write in 15 to 20 mistake free minutes and get 8 and 8 for every game. And instead of being criticized for who she isn't she should be lauded for getting the most out of who she is.

I don't believe there is any Lady Vols fan that does not want this girl to succeed....

I know her Dad, I know her.
She is Driven
Karo just needs to get some PT to earn some PT. Right now she is coming off the bench during very late in the rotation. It is a much different mindset for a player who knows what minutes they are going to get and one that doesn't.....MAJORLY different..."When am I going in" v "When am I going to play"

She'll get there. Kid's got heart

Gule, I really believe Darth is a fan, but is to proud to admit he is a fan....Kind of like the guards in the Wizard of Oz...He's only doing what he has programmed himself to do...He wants to crown Coach Kellie, but he wants assurances before he commits himself publicly.

I am not going to knock KJH for not playing Striplin as much as many of us would like. We are not at practices and see her practice performances. When she has played she does appear to be more mobile and aggressive than Saunders. I would love to see her play, however, none of us are in KJH’s seat, so we need to trust her. Also we need to stop assuming that Striplin will be a failure just because she is not playing enough to meet our satisfaction. It is going to workout.

She's a freshman. She's from a small school in a small town. She is adjusting to big-girl basketball played at a P-5 school. She has the physical tools, but hasn't learned the schemes yet and her role in them - the mental part. Coaches shouldn't put players in a position to fail, so Kellie has to manage her appearances. She will learn and grow. Look at Olivier on the men's team - or Uros, as extreme examples. Fans wrote them off as busts long ago, but they are really starting to put it together now. Sometimes it takes a while. The notion that a freshman should be a major contributor in her freshman year or she's a bust is just silly.
