I'm indifferent on the subject. If he stays, he stays. If he goes, I won't give it a second thought. Snake oil salesmen are a dime a dozen in the coaching profession these days. Just call the Pump brothers or Sonny Vaccaro and they'll deliver the next Bruce Pearl to your campus, for a fee of course. There's a difference between questioning him and wanting him run out of town.

I'm not saying forever, but I don't see why it shouldn't be for the near future.
Who says he is John Wooden? I just think Tennessee Basketball has been pretty irrelevant in my lifetime and I'm happy with what our program has accomplished under Pearl.

I'm happy with what we've accomplished, but I'm quite a bit less optimistic about the future than I was a couple of years ago after we blew the Ohio State game. We still can't play defense consistently. We still don't have any more reliable offense than just throwing up threes and hoping we hit. And if Pearl hasn't been able to even sort of fix either of those problems with two more years under his belt, can we ever reasonably expect that he will?
No way I think the guy should be fired or anything, but two years ago I thought the future of Tennessee basketball was pretty much limitless. Now I've about decided that this is pretty much what we're going to get. Not that it's not pretty outstanding in the context of Tennessee basketball, but it's a little underwhelming compared to where we seemed to be headed a couple years back.

Valid points and a fair assessment. I think many of us were disappointed this season -- for the first time in the Pearl era.

Not sure if I would be indifferent on him staying or leaving for whatever reason. Our track record for hiring coaches ain't what you call stellar.
I do have one problem with Pearl though. I think he is a poor disciplinarian. Even then though its hard to be hard on Pearl this year because there has been so much talk about Chism and T. Smith going to the PRO's....You can't help but think that some of that talk got into their heads....and caused them to play outside their comfort zone.
Neither do I, but a large portion of our fan base apparently thinks part of the job description of the men's basketball coach is to be a jester.
