Keep Pearl around!

It's nothing new. It's the same loser minded drivel that lead to Fulmer surviving 2005.

When Pearl survives a losing season, that analogy may hold some water. This is the first time we have not made it past the first round since Pearl has been here.

I certainly don't believe the honeymoon of a Tennessee basketball coach can end with a NCAA Tournament appearance.
Why not? I'm not advocating the guy getting fired . . . just that there were some pretty clear deficiencies that he deserves criticism for.

Because I think 20+ wins and a trip to the Big Dance is a successful season at Tennessee don't you?
Probably . . . but why does that have to be the measuring stick forever, and why do I have to believe that any coach pulling it off at Tennessee is John Wooden?

It was an edit by me. Freak is just faster than I am. :)

You should have kept it, it was a very good point and pointed out what most are doing. Most aren't wanting him gone, but many are bringing up legit criticisms that no amount of point out that he's not Buzz Peterson will make go away.

I'm not saying forever, but I don't see why it shouldn't be for the near future.

Who says he is John Wooden? I just think Tennessee Basketball has been pretty irrelevant in my lifetime and I'm happy with what our program has accomplished under Pearl.

Actually wouldn't that mean we should have done better? We did above average in a down conference. I mean the team we tied with for the East didn't even make the tournament.

OOC schedule makes a difference when you win. Tennessee as a team wasn't very consistent this year and the same goes for everyone except LSU in the SEC.

Exactly. Bronzer Bruce produces a carbon copy of Jerry Green's final season, with a team he recruited, and people act as if it's heresy to question him.

Jerry just had more of a collapse at the end, plus he ran his mouth. The two teams' expectations and play were extremely similar.

Are you saying Tennessee basketball is now relevant having never advanced beyond the sweet sixteen? If that's the expectation, that's fine. Just asking.

There's a difference between questioning him and wanting him run out of town.

I'm happy too, and I don't want Pearl run out of town. I just think there are some valid criticisms.

In the context of Tennessee basketball in my lifetime, I consider Sweet Sixteens being relevant.
