Kellie would do a lot better if the Knoxville atmosphere was different.These are not yesteryear’s girls they are wanting a more hip hop culture at the school’s games and Dawn provides that even TX when they played UCONN had the lights on low playing hip music during time outs it might seem insignificant but it’s playing a small part in recruiting some of these young ladies want to see a little of their culture and I don’t know if TN provides that because I’ve never been in the building but Kellie knows this that’s why she along with her husband and assistants were doing choreograph video dances some time ago they trying to get with the cultural program that some of these young ladies are looking for like I said it’s a small reason outside of the NIL situation but it could make a difference in a player not coming I know that’s not Mulkey’s style.but she is playing the game to not turn off recruits and if some of you old fashioned fans think it’s not a problem well ok think that way

She would do a lot better if she could coach her team up. Lady vol games used to be a great event before two ex lady vol players ran the program into a ditch.

You say that because you believe in a certain way.it’s not dumb look at SC intros the way they jam during timeouts that appeal to recruits look at Angel and Flaujee if you thinks that’s not appealing to recruits then you are dumb but you are not dumb you just believe in the era of CPS being status will but these are different times

Rick Insell is probably the best ladies coach in Tennessee. His age works against him some but he can flat coach.

I think most of us thought MO St said Kellie was a convenient and very iffy hire. Everyone knew she was unproven at this level. We hoped with the $ and facilities her alma mater had to offer, she could prove herself. For many reasons, some her fault some not, she hasn't been able to get that done.

Love that man! Not sure where he lives now, he's on Sports Animal some during basketball season. Only thing, Al's getting real long in the tooth, his heyday w Pat was 25 yrs ago. He was on staff when Kellie played.

Another good one is Dean Lockwood. Now there's a post coach!

I think that Al Brown was also on the men's staff as well at Tennessee for a period of time.

Danny has plenty of connections. It’s easy to follow the dots for Heupel, but it appears he was a quality hire of convenience. This one will be big and he should be well aware…

So. Assume the majority of volnation has accepted CJH as an acceptable acquisition to date… remains as an open result. A 7 win season followed by one 11 win season only gets you so much grace, when followed up by an 8 or 9 win season. Significant improvement on that front is the bar. Thats why the AD gets that nice contract. He is dealing with agents for his perspective coaching candidates. They be rascally mofos.

Do people really think Lawson would be better than Harper? I loved Lawson as a player and an analyst. She is probably one of the most overall intelligent people in the sport. That being said........

I have no idea why she feels she should have been given a chance at UT in 2019 when she had no coaching experience at all. It makes zero sense to turn over any top flight program to someone who had literally never been a coach. Did she get so upset when she wasn't considered that she has burned all UT bridges? To me that smacks of a lack of self awareness and even entitlement. I think she's done well at Duke and probably has a higher ceiling than Harper but I have serious doubt UT would be any better off at this point if she were the coach. Her recruiting has of course been much better and that could pay off but so far the jury is out.

Again, I loved Lawson at UT and on ESPN. Her IQ is at least double my own, but it appears there are overly sour grapes from her for something that when framed properly makes no sense. Do I just not understand what happened or have I missed something?

What’s yall opinion on Lynne Roberts? HC of Utah…..just watched an interview during the game with SC. I like her attitude. What you guys think? yay nay????

I watched her coach against SC yesterday and was impressed at how her players were running their offense. I know she lost, but the motion offense was effective.

Thank you for clearing that up. I clearly missed part of what went down.

I have no issues with Lawson at all and she may wind up being a very successful coach. I just think it's too early to tell if she will ever be what fans here expect, which is to be a consistent FF and NC threat.

After watching TTU yesterday against ETSU (men), I don't see how they can keep him around. Completely uninspired basketball with a lack of even the fundamentals of the game.

Didn't TTU put some money into their facilities and hoops program in hopes of rising up in the OVC and being competitive there?

The inside has had an overhaul. Seats, floor, scoreboard. The corridor is still a time warp from the 80’s.

Did I read somewhere or did I dream it....That when being recruited to Tennessee her Dad/Family wanted her at a Stanford or Duke type school?

Her Dad. Didn't come to games for a long time if ever. I think he was a high ranking military guy

I went to a game there a few years ago as I was passing through and weather had me stop in Cookeville. I think this was around 2018/2019. They had just replaced the court and the lighting, and it was quite nice. Some of their fans were talking about the big plans to pump some money into the athletic programs to bring them up to par. Was kind of cool to see, although that court and that lighting are terrible for watching a game, the wood bleaches out in the LED and it's just a giant bright reflective surface.
