Kentucky down by 18 to Miami (OH)

Right. And I'm definitely not taking anything away from PP. I think he's a great player. I just think it's tough on him trying to play the 4 because I think he would be much more effective on the block every play.

I understand what your saying, all I'm saying is PP is a 4. He effectively played 5 last year but if he wants any staying power in BB he will be a 4. I think athletically he will be able to cover just about anyone he plays in the SEC.

It is my opinion, dating back to the press thread, that you get way, way to restrictive in your definition of a player's position in your analysis.

No, actually I wasn't the one saying that our 4 man is on the ball every play. I stated that most of the time it's Chism. That's all I said.

He is playing this season at 4 out of necessity. If you can see PP guarding guys like Randolph, Dirk Nowitzki, Beasley, Al Harrington, then maybe you're seeing something I'm not. I think he would be much better served guarding guys on the block rather than going against guys that are more versatile off the bounce.

He's got a better chance at that than becoming Ben Wallace version 2.

I have been on KY boards giving them heck and man are they touchy:shades:. I got a warning from the main guy about getting kicked off the board :).

You may be right, man. I just can't see it right now especially after the microfracture surgery. I think that affects your lateral movement quite a bit.

Dang!!! So close man. That would of been sweet to see the mighty cats get beat by Miami-Ohio. Cal was talking about how good this team was though. I was glad to see how physical the D was on Wall. Expect that all season.

I hate Kentucky as much as the next guy, but can't you say the exact same things about Bruce Pearl?

which is another testament of his coaching deficiencies, free throws dont require talent, but they do require discipline and enforcement by the head coach. john calipari just gets way too much credit for being average, he has always been LOADED with talent everywhere hes been, how many ncaa champs does he have again? ZERO NUFF SAID

No. Ask Hatvol, Bruce Pearl has never been loaded with talent everywhere...not even close.

If he gets T Harris and Pinkston to join his current commits he will have a class that would be his best ever and would be middle of the road for Cal's classes.

Look, I can't stand John Calipari, but the fact is, the guy is a very good coach. His resume speaks for itself. He is light-years ahead of Pearl right now in the career accomplishments department. Calling him an average coach just further diminishes your already very low credibility on this board.

Yeesh,
The reading comprehension here is weak. I think this may also be the second time you have tried to pick a fight with me about someone else's quote. I did not call Cal average. I have called him scummy before, but not average.

Someone else called him average. Then emain said that the same criticisms could be leveled at Bruce. I pointed out that it is crazy to compare the two because the best recruiting class ever for Bruce would be an average one for Cal...

What is next, do you want to tell me that Lebron James should be a center because he is 6'8?

What did you expect? Thats like whacking a hornets nest with a stick then wondering why you got stung.

Thats what you get for trolling.

What board was it, by the way? Curiosity is killing the cat.

I do expect it, and I am happy with it. I will take 10-14 freebies from the line every game from Wall. If your going to keep him in front of you, your backcourt is going to get some fouls. Of course the level of defenders will improve, but this will still be the theme of the season. However John Wall goes, so goes Kentucky.

wall should have got called for a charges a few times...kats got some calls last night

who are you damning (poorly, I might add) with this?

Nice to see UK fans squirm a little bit...even if it is only for a little while. Cousins is going to be an absolute beast.

As I think more about it, losing this game would have been a good thing in the long run. This game proved that If you don't come out with your A game, ESPECIALLY on defense, your going to lose. No matter who it is your playing.

All these spoon fed freshmen have to learn these lessons before this team gets any better. I think this game will teach them alot of it, and we were just fortunate to come out with the W instead of a loss.
