Kiffin to Ole Miss

He’s so awesome. Finally got it figured out at FAU with that killer 25-13 record, after going 0-3 in previous stops.

I predict you’ll still be dangling from his underbelly when he’s canned from Ole Miss in 3 years.

Wow. You just don't get it, do you? ANY Coach on ANY level (High school, Jr College, Division 3, Doesn't matter----) any coach who turns a program around in ONE Year is considered a good Coach. NO he wasn't in the SEC, Big 10, BUT he coached against teams on equal footing with his team (Which is all anyone can ask) and Beat them. And No, I don't Love LK, I DESPISE what he did to UT; BUT I can give due credit and compare apples with apples. It Does require some Genius, I am finding that out right here.

Anyone can disagree with me all they like, however, Lane Kiffin is one of the top 5 offensive minds in college football. I like Jeremy Pruitt but I would love to have Kiffin back at Tennessee in a heartbeat. Would take him tomorrow................by the way , call me an idiot if you like but I do not like Jim Chaney, never have, never will !!!! Regardless what you say, you can carry that to the bank !
Then why would the top 5 offensive mind hire Chaney to be his OC?

Too bad things have to be plain as day before you can see them. That's a bad spot to exist in.
Nonsensical post.Kiffin’s track record as HC is not good and the stats support it. He is not remotely close to a Saban or Swinney but some here believe he is.

Yea, his winning multiple conference championships with a doormat program is nothing.

I know. I know. You dont know anything until everyone knows it. Lol.

Multiple coaches have performed well at lower levels and been very average at major programs, most recently guys with bigger names than Kiffin: Tom Herman, Willie Taggert, Scott Frost

I dont think anyone can declare him the next Saban or Swinney any more than we can declare Pruitt so at this point. What we can say is that Kiffin CAN coach and recruit some offense and he knows what it takes to be HC. With no handcuffs like he had at USC, no immediate marriage implosion, etc, Kiffin will have a real opportunity to put his mark on things.

People forget that Kiffin is only 44 and was (and still is) a very young HC. I suspect a lot of his assinine behavior has mellowed somewhat as the cockiness of youth got knocked out of him (like it does to us all eventually). Hopefully for OM, the swagger has matured a bit but not lost its power.

He is likely to do reasonably well at OMiss if they give him time and I suspect if he can bring Briles and a solid D coordinator then they will get dangerous in a few years. Between Ogeron at LSU, now Pittman at Arkansas, Gus at the Barn and of course Saban at Alabubba, the West is becoming as much of a murderers row as it has ever been. I have to think that Kiffin gives OMiss a better chance of recruiting in a very loaded SECW better than most anyone else that they could reasonably attract.

He will succeed there. Will get a West division title.

Not before Saban retires and that will depend upon who Alabama hires to replace him. So you believe he is a better coach than Hugh Freeze? He couldn't win the West in his 5 seasons after signing two top 10 classes.

When would be irrelevant. Winning a division at Ole Miss is SUCCESS no matter what the circumstances.

My only caveat is perhaps he springboards to a bigger job before he wins a division. That said, that would mean he was having success.

When would be irrelevant, I agree. I also doubt he stays long enough to see the downfall of Alabama and LSU which would be the only way he does it. Success at Ole Miss is 8 wins or so, I believe he will do that if he can hire a great recruiting staff.

Yup. If he is going 7-5 / 8-4 and constantly winning the Egg Bowl, he will be royalty there.

Expecting 5000 at his introductory news conference. Will be opening concessions with half off hot dogs and beer per Dr. Jerry Punch.

Would having to endure that relentlessly stupid Hotty Toddy chant be sufficiently offset by the extreme coed talent at Ole Miss?
