Kiffin to Ole Miss

I do not like Butch’s abilities. Certainly the back to back 9-4 seasons were misleading because of primarily Dobb’s dual threat skills. I believe Kiffin is flashy and more style over substance as far as HC is concerned. We will have to wait and see.

You wait. I've already seen.

The cool thing about Kiffin is that he’s never really done anything, so you have a really cool lengthy debate forever. All the “facts” are imaginary. If the debate slows you can just make up new facts. He may do great or maybe terrible.

His legend here was built off of beating 7-5 UGA and USC teams. His Vols flat out didn't show up vs UCLA, Auburn, Ole Miss, and VT that year. Yeah, he won some games at FAU. Another guy who won games at a lower level but was fired in the "big leagues" was Butch Jones. Granted, Kiffin's football knowledge >>> Jones's, but I just don't think he's a great or even good head coach when he's facing stronger competition.

“Rolling UAB.” 😂

So I guess his amazing win over UAB supplants his amazing win over Southern Miss as his signature win at FAU?

I’ll never understand the segment of the Tennessee fan base who still swing from this guy’s nutsack. I think it’s a minority of UT fans but it’s a persistent bunch.

All the best to Kiffin at Ole Miss. I have no hate toward the guy, I actually like his moxie and offensive acumen. But as a head coach he has sucked. His pretty good, albeit streaky run at FAU does not offset the three train wrecks in his past.

You play the schedule as it is presented. UAB was the West Div Champion in CUSA. FAU was the East Champion in CUSA. Kiffin Coached In CUSA. SMISS is a Member of CUSA. In three seasons Kiffin took a 3-8 FAU team to CUSA Champions. I understand all this is very hard to comprehend.

I'll go on record right now. Kiffin will not be successful at Ole Miss.

And I'll also predict that even that won't quell the inexplicable man-crush some fans seem to have for him.

Absolutely no "Man Crush" here, But I've noted your Prediction. BTW, How many wins will you consider "Successful" say by year 3? OR are you going to judge him before year 3, since OM is a team already on the Uptick?? I mean those guys are Poised for a Breakout year! lol. I'll hang up.

As someone who grew up a Tennessee fan but went to Ole Miss for my undergrad and masters degree, I am absolutely ecstatic about the hire. He’ll fit in great there.

In Kiffin's defense, he turned around a program immediately at the lower level. Butch was riding coattails and didn't really build anything.

While it is only FAU, Kiffin won more in 3 seasons then FAU did in the previous 8 seasons before him.

Of course Butch can't even land a coaching job at Bama.

What a bizaar day. I hope Norvell and FSU kick the Gators' butts—like I hope we do in Knoxville next year. Kiffin's gonna spice it up in the SEC West for sure. Can't wait to see who Arkansas and Missouri hire. We need to finish strong in recruiting and win our bowl game. Word.
We aren’t beating Florida anytime soon

I’m a big Kiffin fan I would’ve rather have us hired him back than hiring Pruitt. Kiffin will do well at Ole Miss

I love Pruitt. I only wanted Kiffin once the sh!t show started with Dave Doeren and Brohm being interviewed. At that point, bring him back with performance ladened contract and allow him to hire whatever staff he wanted. If we were going to be a circus, no one better to lead it than him

I define success for him the same way I do for Pruitt. We all know what it looks like. If he's still there in 4 years, competing for the west and going to bowl games every season, I will have been proven wrong.

If I was going to be a head coach at any school other than UT, I think Ole Miss would be the obvious choice as a single guy. Expecting a scandal to come out for this in the future.

I'd check out some of the talent out west before committing. ASU, UCLA, and USC namely but I guess that depends on your flavor.

I meant to type SEC schools. You are correct, with Arizona State being probably tops for me.
You have to give it to Lane. He is truly a genius at going to schools with a hot coed population (well other than his time at Alabama).

He’s so awesome. Finally got it figured out at FAU with that killer 25-13 record, after going 0-3 in previous stops.

I predict you’ll still be dangling from his underbelly when he’s canned from Ole Miss in 3 years.
