Killer instinct...Alvin Kamara

No it doesn't. I'm not crowning him as the next Prescott, but you shouldn't be calling him the next Bortles, either. Especially when no evidence points to your side of the argument as of yet, outside of some bogus hypotheticals.

My opinion of Trubisky goes to back to my evaluation before the draft. I think he can be solid backup type QB. Maybe even a mediocre starter like Tannerhill if everything goes right.

But he'll never be a STAR. And nothing in that first game has me thinking otherwise.

The guy who has me thinking otherwise is Deshaun Watson. Now his debut was genuinely surprising and showed promise that he might turn into a superstar NFL QB that I didn't see. Trubisky not so much. He's exactly what I thought he was. Not very good.

How can you call Trubisky a bust yet call Garrett a HOF?

It's been 1 game.

Garrett: G1 1 tackle total
Trubisky: G1 18/25 166 1td 3/38yds

Based on that Garrett should be fired and Trubisky is the nxt star

Cause there's more to the game than stats. You have to actually watch the players play. There is a reason NFL teams evaluate players based on reviewing game tape than reviewing box scores.

Trubisky did not impress me one bit. Lacked poise and calm like Deshaun Watson the night earlier. He was playing backups and no one was game planning. Sure he made some nice throws but in preseason I look for more than hitting open players. I look for composure and poise. Trubisky lacked that. Watson didn't. His performance was genuinely impressive.

And FTR defensive players are judged by disruptive plays not box score metrics. Myles Garrett was as advertised. He was incredibly disruptive and flashed on tape in his limited opportunities. Looked like the player I expected.

Just make butch look smarter and smarter doesn't it? Lol. Every average fan knew kamara was better than Hurd. And not just better suited for the system...just plain better all the way around. And test through the majority of the season kamara sat on the sidelines while we watched Hurd average 1 yard or carry. Every year there decisions butch makes that are just plain dumb. But his handling of kamara is probably the biggest indictment on his coaching ability we've seem

we get it....you hate butch. no need to remind us in every thread.

Ok then. Barnett outplayed Garret yet again. Much as he did his entire college career. So if Garret looked like a HOFer, and Barnett looked at least twice as good, what does that make Barnett?

I haven't watched Barnett's game yet. When I do I'll tell you what I think.

I judge players based on tape not box scores. 2 sacks is impressive in the box score. I'll have to see if the performance was also impressive after seeing him play.

Right, because results certainly don't matter. One player got all his sacks against subpar competition and disappeared when playing against top tier talent in college, the other got most of his against the best of the best year in and year out. Based on tape, my ass.

WTH do you mean by, "I haven't watched his tape yet"? Did you not watch him during his time at Tennessee? He racked up better stats against SEC competition and was way better productive overall than Garrett.

Barnett had two sacks while Garrett looked like he was about to drop to his knees. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that Barnett has that killer instinct which Garrett lacks. You shouldn't need to watch "tape" to know Barnett is the better player.

Even if you did, is anybody really going to give a monkey's a**? Your predictions are meaningless that serve no purpose other than to make yourself look foolish over an Internet forum.

Seeing Vols under-utilized at Neyland only to shine in the NFL is something we've gotten used to unfortunately....

I've already made my views regarding Barnett and Garrett's college careers well known. I've made my views regarding their NFL prospects well known. I don't feel the need to repeat myself. We'll see who is the better player ultimately.

FTR, it's only been one preseason game. Lets wait until it's midseason of their rookie year before we start declaring victory.

This seems like as good a place as any to provide the Kelvin Taylor update:

Taylor got picked up by the Falcons as the 6th RB on the roster. Given his stellar outing last nite, where he ran wild on 4 carries for 7 yards (all in the 4th qtr), I think we can all safely say that D4H's prediction has been proven correct.

He's not. I watched the game. He didn't looked poised. He was helter skelter against backups. He got some nice completions but I didn't see the sort of command, calm, and poise Watson showed the night before.

Trubisky will be a BUST. Blake Bortles 2.0.

Dude...I don't care if he was playing against the practice squad. He lined up and went 9 for 9 with a TD on his first possesion in the NFL. Your bias on different players and your seemingly childish rants just to try and defend your talking points only make you look even more foolish. I bet you've never played one down of actual organized football in your life. You could of just said yeah, he looked good last night but we'll see if he can sustain it through the season. But no, you had to go full 9 year old....AGAIN. SMH.

I was wondering when you were gonna hit me with the Kelvin Taylor update. I saw on ESPN's bottomline that he got signed a few days ago. But didn't hear from you just yet. You seemed to have been on top of it whenever he got cut.

Hopefully Kelvin gets a chance in a real NFL game with a starting caliber offensive line. I think he can be a productive RB in this league. He just needs a real chance.

Isn't it ironic that one of our UT players that most likely has the best chance of making the HoF is not highly praised by D4H?

You talk up so many players on our team, but since you made a prediction that Myles Garrett will be in the HoF you are going to downplay DB's talent. I bet you're secretly rooting for Garrett to be a better player just so that you can say that you're right smh. Also I see that there is a pattern with your choices of QB's...

Barnett > Garrett. Mark it down. Just talking to my buddy today, had Barnett come back this year, could have been a top 5 pick, possibly number one, but I know he had to go get that first round money.

Everybody, including every NFL scout, knew that Barnett was already the better player coming out of college. He's a more complete defensive end (defends the run and can pass rush), more fundamentally sound at the position, had the more impressive college career.

What Derek Barnett isn't though is an absolute physical freak. Myles Garrett is. Every NFL coach, when they see incredible physical talent, will assume that they can channel every ounce of that physical talent into playing the position.

Funny thing about "chances". When you have your chance after being drafted by the Niners and being cut it's a chance you failed. When you're then picked up by their practice squad it's a chance but then get cut from that one too it's not a good look. It's another chance when you get picked up by the Seahawks and couldn't hold on to even a practice squad spot there. He got another chance with the Chiefs but, you guessed it, couldn't hold even a practice squad spot.

And here we are, yet AGAIN, with another "chance" on the Falcons, where he hasn't exactly balled out so far. Taylor's problem isn't "chances"...it's lack of convincing evidence to multiple teams he's good enough to play in the NFL.

If he had gone 2-15, then that would have PROVEN his point. Goalposts never stay in the same spot.

If Dobbs goes out tonite and puts up anything similar, just watch what those numbers prove about Dobbs that they somehow didn't about Trubisky.
