Trubisky did not impress me one bit. Lacked poise and calm like Deshaun Watson the night earlier. He was playing backups and no one was game planning. Sure he made some nice throws but in preseason I look for more than hitting open players. I look for composure and poise. Trubisky lacked that. Watson didn't. His performance was genuinely impressive.

Then I guess it's completely pointless that they keep up with the following:

Passing yards
Tds
Completion %

Furthermore, if Watson was so composed and poised why not do more than:

15-25 179 60% sacked 3 times 3/24 1td

Looking at the #s Trubisky outplayed Watson.

And FTR defensive players are judged by disruptive plays not box score metrics. Myles Garrett was as advertised. He was incredibly disruptive and flashed on tape in his limited opportunities. Looked like the player I expected.

so I guess sacks, tackles, tackles for loss, quarterback hurries etc are recorded for no reason?

Myles Garrett needs to be a LB in a 3-4 if he's ever going to become a superstar. Exclusively used as a pass rusher.

I remember Julius Peppers tried that too and he looked lost and confused. The same would come from Garrett Especially if he's gassed playing his natural position.

Coming out of college Peppers was a more complete defensive end than Garrett was though. All Garrett can do is rush the passer. He's very good at it, with the potential to be even better given his physical gifts, but it's all he did in college. He's a complete non-factor on running plays. I'm not sure Peppers was ever like that.

Exactly. Those things aren't an actual measure of how one actually played and performed....no, no, they mean nothing actually, it's the tape I tell ya, the tape....unless those same stats actually back up D4H's opinion/preconceived notion coming in.

d4h reminds me of a guy I work with. An exceptionally nerdy fellow that doesn't bathe as often as he should and sports one of those ridiculous looking combovers.. The guy obviously has never played a down of football yet thinks he's an expert because he plays fantasy football in lieu of actually having a relationship with a female..

Yep, that's the image I see when I read his 'holier than thou' bullsh!t...

Lol i know, just messing with ya. I actually think D4H is just a very dedicated troll who's really good at it. No way anybody can possibly truly believe most of the stuff he says. He just knows how to get people stirred up. He's either really smart or really dumb.
