Do tell...Geno and Walz did have great runs. Staley and Mulkey are currently better. I'm talking about now and best. Brooks is another good coach. No qualm with that. I’m saying the hire will not require a compromise to get the best and also get a woman. I’ve heard the short list and it’s not something we’ll see as a compromise if we get anyone on that list.
If the A+ candidate is who I want it to be, I think she fan easily be money whipped. I also think she's the best coach in WBB. The fact that the agents reached out to us is intresting. I know who I'd like it to be but I honestly have no clue.Three. I think the reach candidate is A+, but long odds- maybe a one in three chance. They have expressed an interest in making her the highest paid women’s coach, with upside. Maybe she’ll listen. The other two are impressive, and an upgrade and both very interested as their agents reached out to us. It’s perceived that enough time has passed that someone can take the job and not be following Pat. Molly is not on the list of three. I think White will get this right.

Lets drop the identity politics garbage and focus on the best individual for the job.Men coaching both sides is irrelevant. Pat was the woman who made a women’s sport relevant. She is the most important historical figure in women’s basketball ever, and one of the most important sports figures of all time. Hiring a man in that position would be a big mistake. White is astute and aware. No way he’s going to undermine that legacy.
Decent resume, but what's her record against SEC opponents?Head coaching record[edit]

Funny, Becky has coached the Las Vegas WNBA team to two WNBA titles. How does that not qualify as "HC experience?"everyone talks about becky hammon and candace parker neither has HC experience but they are big names
And that distinction is always, of course, highly subjective. Some people's minds -- mostly men -- will almost always naturally lean toward getting the feeling that the best candidate is someone who just happens to be a man. Others will more naturally have female names and credentials spring to mind. It's more important to get the best coach available.
Another wife and husband team??? Hummmm ....Head coaching record[edit]

No flame intended, but based on your analysis, I'm curious to know why there are more women at a Men's BBALL game than there are at a Women's BBALL game. Just curious...And that distinction is always, of course, highly subjective. Since it's so subjective, and there are so many coaches out there with similar credentials, IMO it makes more sense for the pre-eminent program for women's basketball, built on the backs of strong women in hopes of growing more strong women in a world dominated by men, should ALWAYS be led by a woman.
Whatever thing most people will find infinitely better about whatever man they have in mind over whatever women are available, is more likely than not based primarily on ingrained sexist ideas about leadership more than anything else.
Fire away. Lol
