Kirby Smart most likely will replace Dooley (according to what I've heard)

Would you approve if Hart hires Kirby Smart?

Kirby Smart is what Muschamp was a couple years ago. Gus Malzahn just a couple years ago. He is what just about every top HC was just before they got their chance to be a head coach. You are usually a coordinator before your a HC(unless your Dooley). While he would not be my top choice, I think he makes this team 50% better the day he is hired. 50% would have had this team fighting for the SEC east. We just need a capable coach. Alot of teams think an awful lot of Kirby Smart. If he is the man hired, we go into 2103 with a better chance than we had this year IMO.
Smart's name has come up in the rumor mill with every job opening for the past couple of years. If he was sooo great and so ready to become the next great head coach, why hasn't he taken anybody up on these job openings?

Either he doesn't want any of them because they aren't in Athens, or he isn't offered any of them because no AD's think he's worth what he's asking in salary.

If we get another bammer after this sunseri debacle, we may as well go full bore. Hire Kirby Smart as HC, keep sunseri in his current position, and hire dave clawson back for OC.

Much the same with alot of coaches. It has to be the right opening at the right time. If I am a DC at Bama winning championships and making a million dollars a year, it's going to take a great offer from the right school and alot of money for me to walk away from that. I have no idea IF he has been offered any jobs in the past. His name does come up alot when schools are looking for coaches.

That. Because the Dooley bashers have a better opinion on a head coach because of their incessant *****ing & moaning about every loss.

You obviously have no idea what a good coach is. I'll take someone who understands that four SEC wins in three years isn't getting it done.

Hell, I'll take one that can get a punt team out without having to call a timeout ATP...

Yeah, it's one of those things where I heard from somebody who is close to the program. Hart really wants to make Kirby Smart the HC.

That's all I've got. I hope not, but that's what I was told.

Hart would be run out of town on a rail if he hired another turd out of Sabans toilet.

Exactly my point, he either doesn't want any of the jobs offered him, or he isn't getting any that he wants offered to him. I just think that we shouldn't be gambling again. Kiffin was a gamble. We lost. Dooley was a gamble. We lost.

I don't want to gamble again. I want a guy that we all know can win. I don't need us to be playing in a national championship this decade (not that I'd turn it down), but it felt damn good being in the top 25 for the week of the Florida game.

I have some Bama friends, since I live in crimson state, that told me last year Saban told people Smart would be the coach at UT after the 2012 season. I laughed it off last year, but with Hart coming from Alabama maybe this has been in the works for a while now. If he wins, I'll love it. If he doesn't then I'll want the History channel to investigate the Crimson Tide UT conspiracy with video of the grassy knoll on the Hill.

Boosters won't let it happen.

Hart will hire whoever Saban tells him to hire.

We are turning into the University of Alabama at Knoxville.

(As Hart sets up his bake sale table on Kingston Pike)

"If you boosters won't help me buyout Dooley to hire Smart, I will do it myself". "Brownies, 2 for a dollar".

Dooley's record says he is not a good coach. I have never argued he was. The rest is not response worthy.

What part of 1-13 over the last two years of competition in this conference do you find acceptable enough to retain the current head coach?

If the complaints are incessant, then it is because of the performance of the head coach and his program.

If you aren't complaining now, then the question needs to be asked:

Why aren't you complaining?

There are enough complainers on this board for 10 teams. You all don't need me to join in with you. I would not anyway. You all seem to have it covered pretty well.

Yeah... I'm nobody but a fairly up to speed lurker...but I think Smart is number 72 on the list. Hart can't possibly be that stupid.

I'm not saying Kirby won't be a solid HC one day (or whenever he's given the dance)...but considering our situation this would be a bad choice

Kirby Smart will not appease the masses.

A current or former HC will have to be hired for hart to have any breathing room from the boosters.

I'm not totally convinced on Gruden ... but somewhere in the ballpark would pay dividends.
