Thanks for the pic of your crappy stadium. A coaching change will always provide a boost to spring practice attendance. #Unimpressed

Let's see if you can beat Tennessee in a season where the Vols win at least 7 regular season games. That's not happened since 2003. Whenever Tennessee is any good at all - they beat Georgia.

Last 5 years that UT won at least 7 regular season games:

2015: UT 38- UGA 31
2009: UT 45- UGA 19
2007: UT 35- UGA 14
2006: UT 51- UGA 33
2004: UT 19- UGA 14

Thanks for bringing up 2006, 2007 and 2009. Some of my favorite memories, for different reasons. I watched the 2006 game with a friend that hates UT and wouldn't shut up when we were down 24-7. You can imagine how that turned out.

I don't think many would agree the Sanford is a "crappy stadium". We'll see about the rest soon enough.

Sanford is nice, I'll give you that. Sad that around 90,000 will leave there crying when Tennessee beats them😉

Wow if a picture is worth a thousand words this one tells us the AD made a great Decision in making a change.

Said it before I will say it again I wish CMR was still there. We know what he wAs about. Underachieving

I think some of the credit goes to Mark Richt. His underachieving teams over a long period of time has made this fan base hungry. Granted, Richt's winning was much better than Derrick Dooley, but the affect on the fan base is the same. New blood sparks hope. Whether Smart can produce as head coach is still TBD.

Yeah, me too. The recruiting board says "Georgia will never amount to anything." I hope not,
but with Richt gone thats just wishful thinking.

Certainly can't disagree. CMR is a good man with a low energy level. Smart brings a lot of energy and enthusiasm that has been missing in Athens since Erk Russell. Whether or not it translates into wins remains to be seen. But I think from now on teams will have to earn their wins. We're not giving them away anymore.

I'm not sure moving Richt along was a bad move for GA, but I can't believe all the rejoicing that's happening over replacing him with a coordinator that happened to play football at the right place. Maybe it works out, but it's one heck of a roll of the dice that a lot of people aren't acknowledging.

I would be happier if they had hired Muschamp.

Looking at their schedule this year, they should have six guaranteed wins (Nicholls State, Mizzou, USCe, Vandy, UK and UL)

Should/Could wins at three (UNC, GA Tech, Auburn)

And three that will be dog fights (UT, UF and Ole Miss) that could go either way.

Is a record between 7-5 and 9-3 an acceptable outcome for a first season for Smart? How long does the honeymoon last?

Until somebody proves they can play QB for them, who knows? I think Smart gets a one year honeymoon just because he's popular and homegrown, but he'd better win 9, beat GT and be competitive with everybody or the "Shoulda kept Richt" contingent will get shrill.

UGA fans are convinced that they've got talent coming out their ears and somebody should be able to just motivate and playcall them into a national title. Reminds me a lot of where we were from 2003-2008.

An awful lot of overrated players come out of Georgia. It's not that they end up being complete busts, they're merely good when they were projected to be great. Ray Drew from Thomasville is the best example of this and I think Rochester will be the same way. I have a friend from Atlanta who tried to tell me for years that Drew would be a 1st round pick. He wasn't even drafted at all. UGA has a roster full of Ray Drews.

Yes it a high risk high reward move.

I preferred the middle ground myself

I was flipping channels and saw there spring game was on. Could not help but laugh when I saw it was RED vs BLACK, but it looked like RED vs WHITE to me. :loco:
