Knoxville Restaurants

I think I ran into a guy that has a super strong version of that gene. I sampled him a barleywine and a mead-esque beer-- Dogfish Midas Touch-- and he told me they were too hoppy for him. In my case though I just told him that his taste buds don't work.

I'll have to try that. What little I've read about MT says it's not supposed to be hoppy or really bitter at all.

It has 12 IBUs which at ~9%abv means that it basically lacks any amount of bitterness

International Bittering Units

Cool. I might have to ask this question for each beer when I go shopping. Lol
I doubt the liquor store guys will know though.

Some will and some won't. I frequented McScrooge's when I lived in Knoxville and always found them very helpful.

question re:Noah's Mill

is it ever in stock? and what's it running?

Looking like we are going to be holding that back till Black Friday most likely. As in, we have received it, but it hasn't been making its way to shelf. I'm not sure what it's running off the top of my head but I believe it's 40 something dollars.

So it's a $40 whiskey but it's never available? I was talking to my Bev Control rep and he wasn't sure why I couldn't ever find it anywhere. Is it a whiskey that could possibly be purchased if I were to actually ask for it?

Two questions:

The little redhead gal at the counter told me you guys were trying to get more Delirium Red on tap. Have there been any updates to this?

There's been rumors flying around about Bacardi 151 being discontinued. A site I found said that there are several pending lawsuits involving the rum and that they have just slowed down production but have no intention of completely discontinuing it. What have you heard if anything?

I can ask my B&T rep about that tomorrow

Much like Weller, it is a very limited production whiskey that does not break the bank. If you look hard enough you might be able to find a couple bottles at some other stores, but it's luck based.

Not sure on a timescale for the Delirium Red, but hasn't come in yet atleast. Once it gets in, then it would just be a wait for another beer of a similar style to blow.

And regarding the Bacardi 151 question, I haven't heard anything about it being discontinued, but I have noticed shipments of it becoming much less frequent.

I guess what I struggle with is that I'm never told that I can't get a bottle when I need to order it. Maybe they divert most of their stock to on premise?

Go to Butler & Bailey or Willy's and cook it at home! A good steak in a restaurant (unless you want to spend $$$) is tough to find.

The Kroger Marketplace in Farragut always has thick-cut USDA Prime ribeyes in the meat case, and the butcher will hand cut one for you if you don't see any to your liking.

My B&T rep just said that 151 has been discontinued and they said they can't get any anymore. Gosling's is producing a 151, seemingly to fill that market void now.
