Benton's bacon? Still food of the gods? Or, old school way-too-smokey yesterday's sliced pork belly?

We didn't like it much at all. It wasn't that it was over smoked, just didn't like the smoke flavor it had. Tasted like bad campfire smoke to me. Might have gotten a bad batch?

Gus's Fried Chicken in Knoxville grand opening is Sept 16, from what I've been told.

Not sure if they will be open before then. Rumor says soft opening may start Wednesday.

Tried Stock Burger on Sutherland this weekend.

Nothing special to see here. Not bad, but nothing great.

Onion rings are terrible. Fries were ok. Burgers were ok.

A little work and this could have been a really cool burger/neighborhood bar.

Another hater! Bison burger and duck confit fries for the win. Disclaimer: never had the rings.

Grabbed some Gus's as well. God it feels just like home. I'll have to stop myself from going there on a very regular basis
