Knoxville Restaurants

Wife & I went out in last night.

We started at Cinco Amigos in Lenoir City for a margarita. Then we went to Connors. The Lobster Crab bisque was outstanding as always. The Chilean Sea Bass & Parmesan Encrusted Halibut were very good.

Has anyone eaten at Chesapeake's in the past year or so? I've never been there and I wanted to try it, but they have pretty terrible online reviews.

Ate there about 3-4 months ago and enjoyed our meal with a group of family. It seems fairly consistent over the years, like Copper Cellar.

Thanks. The negative reviews made me wonder if they're being written by disgruntled employees. I'm going to try it out for my first time next week.

It's not trendy or fancy, but it's good seafood for Knoxville. Let us know what you think.

I went to Gus's yesterday. It wasn't anything special to me honestly. Cheap chicken and it was good...but I waited close to 20 minutes for my to go order which was pretty discouraging.

Unless really busy, they do not cook orders until placed so chicken will be hot. I have never done carry out, but if so I would call ahead.
I have also never had lukewarm chicken, always piping hot.

Son and I tried Zoe's Kitchen yesterday. We both liked it a lot. I had the Mediterranean Chicken and he had a high protein dish. Fresh, hot and tasty.

Tough to beat for quick and healthy. Their family to-go pack is in our rotation for busy days.

I'll say this about Gus's, it's 100 times better than Chandlers

Agreed, I have eaten at Chandler's about 5 times over the past 3 years. First time chicken was really good and the last time was awful. It was so bad that I will not go back.

It's really not that good and the place is a dump. I dont think they have cleaned it in 5 years. It's all name now, nothing special

What? You don't like sitting in Chandler's next to christmas decorations and a couple years worth of trash building up in the corner? How dare you. Next thing you'll recommend is they wipe down the kitchen a few times a year. Crazy talk.

my only problem with Gus's is that the bread is always super soggy, even if I pull the bread out and set it to the side right when I get the plate

Picked up a gyro and pork in a pita from Gondolier last night. The gyro was fabulous. The pork, just OK.

My first time was a few days after opening & I got the 3piece white plate.... didn't even notice there was bread until I was finished.
