Knoxville Restaurants

As long as I've lived in Lenoir City & Knoxville and as often as I get back there I've never been to Little Joe's. I'm usually at Dixie Lee Liquors a couple of times a week. Has anyone been there? Is it any good?

Very good food, but service and building leave a lot to be desired. Menus are also dirty. If someone fixed things up inside and hired a great wait staff, line would be out the door. Lasagna is best thing on the menu with their garlic bread.

Thanks for the info.

Excellent summary.

I love the place. I'm used to eating in dumpy pizza places, but it was a stretch for my wife. The garlic bread was great. I seem to remember it having some coarse ground salt on it.

$2 off all burgers at Seasons every Tuesday. If you've not tried them, you should. I'm a big fan of the Blue Ridge (blackened seasoning, bacon, blue cheese).

Their fries and sweet potato fries are also fantastic, or they will let you sub a salad or other side (I had the charred brussel sprouts tonight).

Compared to the burgers at S&B how are they?

Hard to compare as they are totally different styles. Seasons' meat is very good, not very greasy, served a little "fancier" on a ciabatta roll. I can't complain about either.

I've been a life long customer of Copper Cellar but after my last three visits, I think I am finished. Sadly the management and the service have become poor and subpar. The last straw was tonight I ordered prime rib medium temp and a loaded potato with a salad. Wife had a meal and the kid had a meal. For the third time, my salad was forgotten but brought to me when I asked for it after 20 mins of waiting. Then, my wife's entree came out but no other food. So we got the waiter again and he came back 10 mins later with my kids chicken and said mine was on the way. Then a food runner brought out mine and it was a well done ribeye. I explained this is not prime rib and just take it off my ticket and I'll go. A manager brought out my prime rib and said sorry. No dicount on the ticket, upcharges were placed on a salad which was my second side and loaded potato. No offer of any kind. Done

That's pitiful.

I'm pretty sure all of that could be pinned on the server.

I'm pretty sure all of that could be pinned on the server.

It could fall on many shoulders. I'd narrow it down to either the server or the expo. It's possible that many other people could be at fault.

Bottom line, something should have been done by the manager. Unless something happened that forced the only working manager to be working the expo line, which can happen.

Sometimes when one thing goes wrong, every aspect of the restaurant can (and generally will) crash and burn.

Never been to Copper Cellar, and looks like I never will. Thanks BD for posting this. My biggest problem with places is service, and this is bad!

bigdaddy,

I hear you. The last few times I was there it was marginal at best,

It's really sad because it was a solid restaurant and if a mistake was made, the manager was there to handle it properly and always paid for the meal.

I'm pretty sure all of that could be pinned on the server.

Four different servers with mutilple issues on four different visits is a system problem. But I'll give you this, all the servers were/are 18-20 so it could be a generation thing.
