Meh, I've had better in Austin. Just think Memphis bbq is all talk, nothing specialIf you go to a city and the locals say "you don't need to go to __________ or __________ because their food sucks" and you voluntarily go there anyway, you can't blame the city for having mediocre food. You blame yourself for still choosing the few places that don't meet the city's standard.
In the rest of the state of Tennessee, you have to mention where the good barbecue is. In Memphis, you have to mention where the bad barbecue is. That's really all that needs to be said.
