Knoxville Restaurants

Oooooooooooook...

I went to CB this morning and yea, I don't really like their breakfast as much as Waffle House. Everything was ok but the sausage, it was terrible. Didn't even eat the other piece.

Now I remember why I always order from the lunch menu.

I like them both for different reasons. I'm a big biscuit and gravy guy so Cracker Barrel is far and away better for that, especially the biscuits. As to the sausage it is different because it is smoked. I like it but others may not. Can't beat waffle House for hash browns although if you request real hash browns over that casserole, they are not far behind.

Not on the menu. You have to request it. I just wasn't into the casserole one day and I asked. Been doing it ever since.

Speaking of not on the menu, does anyone know of other restaurants here in Knoxville that sell items that aren't on the regular menu?

Birthday dinner for my wife with the family at Lakeside: disappointed.

I know it's holiday season and busy, but service was only so-so, and the food was sub-par. My salad was blah and the scallops were thin and overcooked. My wife's salmon was OK, but our friend's steak was nothing to write home about.

I think they are really benefitting from a loyal patronage, a nice atmosphere, and a distinct location on the lake.

DCL Foods has always just been decent. I've not tried all their locations but quality wise Parkside and Lakeside are equal. Sometimes they're hit or miss depending on the dish. I agree about Lakeside Tavern, it's mostly atmosphere and location.

Ate at Lakeside one time, not a fan, and made my wife sick.

From now on, it will be a pizza/sandwich after a day on the lake or happy hour spot for us. There are much better options out West for dinner. Conners, Seasons, and Bonefish blow it away for similar fare and price.

That's too bad. Great location. I know they're not the same but I feel that way about Calhoun's in LC. Great location but a waste of money for a meal. I go there to grab some drinks and maybe an app. The entrees are nothing to write home about.

Love me some Connor's. I'm sure I've said that before in this thread, but deserves another mention.

Calhoun's has a good chicken sandwich and a nice lunch buffet on Friday. That's about the extent of its use to me.

It's crazy to think that with all these miles of lakefront property, Knoxville really has only Ruth's Chris to claim as a top-notch restaurant on the water.

What about Willy's, HAHA!! Could be good, depending on your sun to alcohol ratio.

Ate at the Bistro by the Tracks last night.

Nice place. Ordered the Caesar salad ($9) and a filet ($40). Both were very meh. The filet said it was served with roasted potatoes..... the filet was tiny and the potatoes were more like a few pieces of one tiny potato.

For that kind of money give me Connors all day long.

Strange, that's like Flemings prices only you get a 12oz prime filet for $50 at Flemings and their $11 salad is pretty darn good.

I will never go back. Bad service and bad food every 3 out 4 times I go there. 3 months ago was my last time. It is really sad I use to get consistently good meals there but I will not waste my money anymore.

Hey guys, Guess what I got for Christmas? $75 worth of Cracker Barrel gift cards

I will now have to waste someone else's money lol
