Knoxville Restaurants

Went to Caramellas in Kingston this weekend. Very cool little place. You pay $30 a person and its a 5 course meal that you get. No menu just whatever the chef chooses and has fresh that day. Saturday is was Hungarian food. Only open on the weekend. Highly recommend!

If I was a chef, that is the kind of place I would like to work at. Sounds like a lot of fun.

Apparently sometime in January Hurricane Grill and Wings on Lovell Rd. permanently closed.

A yelp member reported that a sign outside said, "will reopen spring 2017 under new concept."

They are currently building a Culver's across from Cedar Springs next to Bojangles.

Main Event is coming along behind the Ale House. It's huge.

Is Main Event going to be like a Dave and Busters type of place? I've never been to either.

Main Event is more bowling, miniature gold and arcade and not so much restaurant like Dave and Busters. They do serve beer though.

There are some really good Hurricane Wings and some really (meh) ones. If they're corporate owned they tend to be better. The one we had in Coral Springs, FL was outstanding. The one that closed on Lovell Rd. sucked.

It's crazy to think how well that business would do if the owner wasn't a psychotic nut job. Ironically, he is also one of the most racist individuals you will ever meet. Here is a funny story about good ole Andras (the owner). Me and my wife went there to sample the food one weekend because we needed a caterer for our wedding. There was a table next to us where a slightly heavy set lady asked for some sort of dressing for her salad. His response was to get her "fat ***" out of his restaurant because he considered that disrespectful. seriously the most insane act I have ever witnessed while eating out. We actually left immediately and I threw $50 bill on the table.

Two weeks later he is showing his *** in Kroger on a 16 year old female cashier to the point management had to intervene. The man needs his nose knocked a few times. The disappointing part.....he is a fantastic cook.

Proves the point there is a fine line between genius and insanity.

That's a hell of a commute there Boca!

I made the terrible mistake of going to Panda Express in a pinch before a movie tonight. The fact that people actually eat there more than once is an embarrassment to modern civilization.

I just saw where Fanatic Brewery brought back World's Fair beer. Is it available by the bottle/can? If so ill have to have some sent to me.

That location is horrible and always is changing.

For the longest time that location was owned by Ruby Tuesday Corp and they would use it to launch new concepts. I thought I read where they finally sold it to the people who own Hurricane but maybe they didn't and they're at it again.

Yeah, they're like the Vanderbilt of all the Chinese places in Knoxville.
