Knoxville Restaurants

First off, the restaurant was in disarray: garbage overflowing, tables sticky, and both tea dispensers without tops.

So one restaurant ruins the chain?

I'm not exactly a Panda Express fanatic because I've only been one time. But the one I went to was clean and fresh and kept up. I didn't get the canned food aura you got, either.

I wouldn't go out of my way not to eat there, but I don't hate it, either.

Didn't go to the one in Turkey Creek (Sarasota instead) but Flemings has this going on:

Choice of Salad: House or Caesar
8oz. Filet
8oz. Lobster Tail
Choice of dessert

All for $49.95.

It was outstanding. I upgraded to the bone-in filet but would get the 8oz. next time....save the $15 for a glass of wine or a side.

That's quite the deal for Flemming's. I believe the filet alone is usually about $50. They absolutely gouge you on their wine, though.

The filet alone is about $50. The salad $12. The lobster tail (8 oz.) ? And dessert $10-12.

Not Watson's = Not Exciting.

Nothing we had was outstanding, and my dish was actually quite disappointing (5 tiny bite-sized, overdone scallops on a bland tomato-based pasta).

Positives: not crazy-expensive and the draft list was respectable.

I will not put it in my downtown rotation, especially with at least four better restaurants within a literal stone's throw.

That's disappointing. I love the place. I also think stock and barrel is mediocre.

I know. I was really looking forward to it after hearing a couple recommendations. Maybe just bad luck or bad selections? The fried oysters and my wife's seared tuna salad were just ok. The scallops were billed as "large" on the menu and I swear one was the size of a nickel and maybe 1/4" thick. My boys had burgers and they were good, but I tried one and it didn't hold a candle to S&B.

I've had that Scallop dish, but went with an alfredo sauce instead of the Red sauce and thought it was pretty good..

If I'm in Knoxville for more than a couple days, I typically eat there, and it's always been good

Copper Cellar is definitely cheaper, but I dunno if better. Likely the same.

The other two, I'm probably not eating a burger at.

I've been to SB three times end every experience was terrible. So to me, cook out has better burgers. Just not impressed w the SB burger. And if you haven't had the Flemmings burger at happy hour you are missing out

Copper Cellar, Flemmings, Conners

Last time I went to Copper Cellar was for Thanksgiving a couple years ago so I've not tried their burger. When I go to Connors or Flemmings I'm getting a steak. I did order a burger one time for dinner at Connor's but was disappointed because some genius put the burger fresh off the grill onto the bun. The bottom was a wet sponge when it got to the table.

Come on man, you did not just compare a Cook Out burger to S&B? A Cook Out burger with their grilled onions on top is great for the $3 it costs but that's just a ridiculous comparison.

Not when everybody burger I have ordered at SB comes out the wrong temp (I always order medium) and dry. If I'm paying 10+ for a burger it better be outstanding

You know I told the kitchen a long time ago to always spit on and overcook your patty, right?
