Knoxville Restaurants

Should be pretty. Hope it works out for everybody.

I’m going to check it out tomorrow.

There were a few good trucks there tonight when we drove by. It's a block away from Schulz Brau. Don't be afraid to get some food and take it over there and grab some beer.

Right across the street from my favorite bar in town. Definitely do not be afraid to grab some food and go to Hops.

Went back to Chesapeake's tonight 2/10/18 it was great but had to wait over a hour for a table..yea I know make a reservation..

We went to Lakeside Tavern last night and, for the third time in a row, I really don't want to return for dinner. They have the view and a nice ambiance, but the food is just mediocre.

I had scallops last time that were not good at all, so I decided to have a steak...I ordered the ribeye med-rare, and it was about 3/4" think and cooked to at least med-well. The potatoes were lukewarm. The salad was boring.

I think Lakeside survives on location alone. It's a great spot to grab a flatbread pizza or sandwich for a day on the lake, but there are probably 50 places better for a good dinner meal.

Asia Kitchen take-out with friends tonight: excellent Chinese. The restaurant was probably 3/4 occupied with Asian diners, which suggests to me that reviews complementing authenticity are probably accurate. The pho and all our entrees were very flavorful. Huge portions, and very fairly priced.

I used to frequent them for pho until Bida Saigon got their operation a little bigger. Once they started offering options other than just the standard pho tai, I haven't been back to Asia Kitchen.

I think I asked this before, but I can't find the answer.

What's the legit dress code for Lonesome Dove? If I show up looking respectable, but wearing jeans, are they gonna ask me to politely **** off? I'm trying to build my schedule for a day in Knoxville and I want to know if I need the extra time for wardrobe change.

I don't think there's a restaurant in Knoxville that would turn away jeans.

But to specifically answer your question, I went there two months ago and I almost always wear black jeans and a dress shirt. I wasn't turned away.

I would avoid sandals, flip flops, and possibly t shirts.

No acid wash or knee holes.

Chef Tim is normally in jeans and his beloved Power T cowboy boots.

I agree with the above post: I can't think of anywhere in town I wouldn't wear nice jeans and a button down or polo, depending on the season.

Unless you just look like a homeless bum, you're getting in pretty much anywhere in Knoxville. When it's warmer I wear a polo and khaki shorts at Fleming's. I'm damn sure not wearing long pants in the summer unless its a wedding or some special occasion.

I’m beginning to think the spot the bourbon bird is in is cursed. The place looks ready to open and was scheduled to open in January. Still not open.

I gave Stock Burgers in Powell another try last night and it was much better this time than when I first ate there. I still think it’s a little on the expensive side for what you get. If they dropped the price from $10 a burger to $8 or $9 it would be more reasonable. Good burger though.

Agreed on all points. I said something similar about the Southerland Ave location and was soundly booed
😁

I drove by there last night, it looked packed. I guess I will have to give them a try.
