Knoxville Restaurants

Which of you guys have actually been to Italy and actually eaten "authentic" Italian food. It's not what they're serving in the States.

I've been to Venice but to be honest after drinking a few bottles of Lambrusco, the food all ran together

 I also found that the food ended up runny too. I chalked it up to the olive oil. :)

I've spent a total of 8 weeks over the years in Italy. Love the place! I have still never seen a plate of spaghetti and meatballs. (except at the tourist traps in Rome and Venice.)

Went to Wok Chow in Bearden last week.

We were impressed. The food tasted great and was relatively cheap (lunch). We will definitely go back. Our boys have already asked about going back this weekend.

Been wanting to try that place.

Tried Shrimp, Oysters, and Beer on Campbell Station. The food was great, but it's a bit too dirty for me.

So you're dropping $35+ for a bottle of wine but are concerned about entrees under $20?

Please show me where in my post I said I was concerned with it. I was separating it into a class of restaurant. You can't compare Altruda's to Flemings or something like that, so I set a price point. Flemings is like $40 for an entree, and then another $15 for a family style side.

Also, great math, dumb***. $35+ for wine would imply you are ignoring tax and tip. More like $20.

Applebee's has greatly decreased in quality in the past few years. They didn't have that far to fall either.

This being said, I might go to Applebee's tonight.

It's Applebee's for the price of Hardee's. It's great for what it is.

Great analogy.

Well Chili's or O'Charley's. I never liked Applebee's, it was the first chain restaurant that came to mind.

O'Charley's is easily the best of the bunch, imo. I've never liked Chili's. Everything taste the same.

Just the opposite, I don't like O'Charley's. Never had a good experience there.

I only get the fajita's at Chili's. Kind of hard to mess those up.

I rank O'Charley's the lowest. I have had numerous meals of poor quality from that chain.

Chilis
Ruby Tuesday
TGIF
Applebees

O'Charley's

Ruby Tuesday needs to go back to their original format. Burgers and the huge salad bar. Quit trying to become a fine dining establishment.

Which O'Charley's are you going to? I frequent the ones near West Town and Turkey Creek, and they are both decent.

I'd say mine would be the following:

O'Charley's
TGIFriday's *
Applebee's
Chili's
Ruby Tuesday.

Friday's might be higher if the one here in Knoxville didn't blow. The one in Cool Springs is outstanding.

Agreed. They also need to add a ton of liquor and craft beer selections and work that angle as well.
