Knoxville Restaurants

Anybody tried the Paula Deen place in Pigeon Forge yet? What about Margaritaville?

Both of those pretty much just opened, like literally. Paula Dean's opened yesterday(Friday). Margaritaville opened on the 16th.

I have never understood the infatuation with Big Eds. I've eaten there 2-3 times. The pizza is very okay. I've had better pizza at many other places.

They also have an Outback....

But seriously, Big Eds is an experience if you've never been

I've been a couple of times, what is this "experience" you speak of? Like the poster above, I've found the pizza to be just barely above average and certainly not worth the price.

I didn't say it was a GOOD experience.

But to each his own about Big Eds. I find the pizza to be very good. Plus, it's a staple of the city, so it's nice to just say you've been there.

Is the tiny, cake sized paper plate meant to give the illusion that you're eating a larger piece of pizza than what you've actually been served?

Not only that, but they used to have a midget call himself Big Ed while he delivered the pizza to the table. He really added to the illusion of a large pizza.

Ye Olde is another unimpressive and overrated restaurant.

It so not where close to the quality of steaks that you can get a high end steakhouse. It is no better than a Longhorn Steakhouse, but costs 30% more.

Some folks need to get out more often and enjoy some finer places to eat.

IMO the best prime rib in town went away when Patrick Sullivan's closed. Hope the new one does as well. Until then, smoked prime rib at home for me

Steak isn't the only thing they have. It's, also, a South Knoxville tradition which counts in my book for something. They do a great chicken breast w/ two sides on Wednesday nights for $10.

It's not the same after the fire.

You talking about approaching the dragon? I pass that one all the time.

Bel Air Grill close to the Dragon? If that's what you're talking about. The old Bel Air went out of business on Alcoa Highway. Was on the left approaching the airport.

Hmm. I always go past this diner that I think is called bel air, it is on the rural section of the road headed to the dragon. It's about a half hour or so away from the road.
