luckily we only truly wanted 1 TE in this class and we got our #1. Brame would have been a great addition but the staff likes where we are at considering who we got in '24 and who we have lined up for '25 and certainly '26

Why did UT not counter Oregon’s NIL offer?

Because Oregon felt like they needed him more. They went big. TN had a very competitive strong NIL deal in place but they weren’t going to be negligent.

The kid did multiple interviews about TN being the pick with me and some national guys which is why you saw the swing from Oregon to TN. He told Oregon and they doubled down and TN wasn’t going to do that. They have Jack and are very happy with him. They didn’t feel the need to just overpay to get Brame.

Brame and Jack have virtually the exact same offer lists except Jack has the Georgia offer (and they pushed hard) and Brame does not

Im confused you bring up a guy like McKinley on the DL that we would have liked to have but we were like last minute into the recruitment. We have known all along getting this guy would be a luxury over his perceived favorite Oregon. I don’t get your logic at all honestly…two different recruitments based on needs

Kam wasn’t a huge priority last year like SDE is this year and we never once had a feeling we were the team to beat in that recruitment
