Him showing up with a gun at such an event is stupid. I think everybody, regardless of whether or not you think he's guilty, would agree with that.

IMO, it's kind of similar to going to a club where you know there is a history of drug dealing and violence, and when you're there something breaks out, and you defended yourself with a pistol you legally brought.

I mean, it was stupid to go there in the first place, but if you hurt someone in a true act of self-defense it wouldn't mean you're guilty of murder, and IMO the act of bringing a gun to the club would not necessarily mean you were going there looking to hurt someone. Stupid decision, but not guilty of murder.
